    • Anti-Smoking

      November 21, 2005

Today I was in the Honda Service centre cum sales office. There is this nut head salesman smoking in the air condition premises. Smokes fly all over the contain space. There were children waiting in the service centre too. All of us become secondary smokers. I walk into the manager office to relay this problem. He gave me a blank face and didn’t give me a positive response.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t hate smokers. I just hate smokers that make other people become secondary smokers, which are more dangerous. I have come across many cases where smokers secretly smoke in air condition premises like the shopping mall, the car park and in public transport.

The government is promoting the “Tak Nak” campaign but not enforcing the public sector to follow strict rules about not smoking areas.

If you know me, I will surely feedback this to Honda and the government bureau. Anyone can give me any more ideas where I can bring this complain to? Please leave the contact and email address.

    • Seafood Dinner

      September 25, 2005

My family went out for a quiet dinner today at Gurney Mall. My hubby and I could not decide what to eat. It seems that we are always choosing the same old food every time. Anyway we stroll down on all the eating-places outside of Gurney Mall and see what they have. We came across this “Fish & Co”. The waiter outside told us they serve seafood. First thing I asked them, do they have any baby chair. I really don’t like going to restaurant without a baby chair. I want my gal to sit in her baby chair when she is having her dinner, same goes for my boy. He is now big enough for an adult chair. He is tall so he has no problem reaching the table. They did have baby chair.

I didn’t know what to order. The waiter recommended crab (opps, I meant real crab). I guess everyone knows that they will always recommend the most expensive. Like crab will keep us full for the evening. I don’t want to go home and worried about supper. Anyway, I saw the side menu and order the Family Seafood Platter for 2. I also order a kid meal for my boy. My gal has her own porridge and will take some from our order.

      Our dinner came:

      RM: 48.90

Source of the picture was from myBest, member of forum.mypdacafe.com. Sorry we didn’t have a camera to take shots of it.

It looks delicious and it was great!! It has prawns, clams, calamari, rice with raisins and fish with chips. We also had 2 humongous drinks called the Jungle Freeze and Sharkie Freeze. It is a blend of tropical fruit juices in a giant mug.

My children also enjoyed it. My gal was enjoying the fish, rice with raisins, and her porridge. My boy was enjoying his kid’s meal with fish nuggets and of course his passion fruit drink. Both did not make any fuss. My hubby and I did have a great time.

Later we dropped by MPH to get some colouring books for my children. We had an expired voucher worth RM38. Fortunately, MPH still allowed us to use it. By the way MPH was newly renovated. It was close like for a few months. We really missed it.

    • Smoky Day in Penang

      August 13, 2005

Haze! Haze! Haze! Rain please come!!! Yes, haze has been blown to Penang. It is smoky outside and blurs the beautiful creation of God. Someone took away our fresh air. I must say it is pretty windy outside, and weather is gloomy. Not sure whether it is gloomy because of the haze. I am praying for rain.

There goes my weekend with the children. I thought of bringing them to the Spice Garden. Now all of us have to stay at home. Maybe we can go shopping later, hang around the mall. Let’s hope the haze down get blown in there.

      API: 104 (11am 13th Aug 2005) at USM Penang.

    • Bon Odori Festival

      July 16, 2005

Today I brought the kids to the Bon Odori festival in Esplanade in Penang. The place was filled, few hundreds people were there. Parking was nearly impossible. God provided us one, although it was a distance walk from Esplanade but it is sure better than none. We reached there about 8pm.

Lots of food stalls around and hungry people too. There was a popular stall selling mega huge balloon and water balloon that they played like a yoyo. I got my son a big balloon. My son played for a while and passed it back to me. I can see $$ flying away, anyway, it was for charity.

The place was dark, not enough lighting. Fortunately, they placed lots of tables and chairs.

There were dances & performance. Many people joined in to dance. Lots of Japanese people around. Mostly there were in Kimono. Too bad, no kimono for sale else would have gotten one for my gal. I saw so many Japanese children in Kimono, they were very adorable.

Fireworks were started sharp at 9pm. It was beautiful and real loud. My children enjoyed it. People started leaving once the fireworks was over, so did we.

    • Let’s talk about mummy. Mummy was born and breed in KL but daddy was born and breed in Penang. How do they meet? Secret, but it is something to do with HAZE.

KL: Work pressure maximum, pay low.
Penang: Work benefits maximum, pay compatible.

KL: Work till 6pm, jam for 1-2 hour, go home, time to sleep, next morning, jam again, no life.
Penang: Work till 5:30pm, what jam?? Reach home at 6pm. Can even watch TVB series at 6-8pm and play with children. Can work at home also. Opps sorry only a few people have such privileges.

KL: Money easy come and easy go, too many temptations to spend – FOOD & Shopping
Penang: Can hardly find anything I want except FOOD but food is affordable (except Nasi Kandar)

KL: Poor qualities of life, lot of time spend on the road, JAM JAM JAM. Lots of stress people on the road, sometimes can be dangerous. At one time, Mummy was stuck in the jam for 3 hours because of rain.
Penang: Good qualities of life. Mummy picks me up at 6:30. Sometimes scroll in the park or shopping mall or play at home.

KL: Good to go during CNY, only time with no cars on the road.
Penang: Not good to stay here during CNY, lots of car from outstation.

      KL: Love IKEA.
      Penang: Why no IKEA????

Anyway, Penang has a very nice park called Youth Park. Lots of outdoor activities for adults and children, such as outdoor & indoor gym, outdoor huge chess board, playing pool for kids, foot reflexology, a few kid’s playground, slides, swing and a nice garden, full of fresh air. We love going there. The park is fully utilized and every time we go there, lots of people (old and young) will be there.

Off topic, let’s talk about kor kor Timmy. He loves to watch advertisement.
