Protected: 6WM – Day 9
May 10, 2006There is a major project happening this weekend and my manager notified everyone not to take leave. However I told her I already booked flights back. I have given her 6 additional contractors for this project. I don’t think she needs that many people and she already has 6 internal stuff plus HP contractors. Sounds like a party. She gave me a green light to go on my vacation. Oh I have to get food for the team, as I volunteer myself, the least I can do. The team has to work 2-3 nights 24×7, on shifts. We are actually relocating our data center with a whole bunch of critical servers.
Today hubby called me in the office. He needs me to help him to find his SPM cert because HR needs it. I never seen his cert before and have no idea where he puts it. I went home after babysitting my children with Winnie. I head to the study room and took out a few of his folders to search. Nope nothing there. I saw a bunch of dusty folders at top corner of the shelf. I remembered those were the folders he packed from his mom’s place. I took down 1, and bingo, his SPM cert. Not bad his grades. Hahaha… This is the first time I am seeing his SPM grades.
Since the children are still watching TV, I read the papers. After they finished, I had quality fun time with them in the bedroom. Nowadays, Emily wants mummy to sleep next to her. I had to make excuses to leave the room. Excuses like, mummy has to work, mummy has to wash bottles, mummy has to … *fill in the blanks*. If you hit the right sentence, she will allow you to go. Today Tim help mummy out. He filled in the blanks for mummy, how cute.
Me: Tim where is daddy?
Tim: Daddy in US.
Me: Tim you miss daddy?
Tim: I miss mummy.
Me: But mummy is not in US.
Tim: Daddy in US.I think he misses his daddy because before I switched off the light, he asked me if daddy can sleep here. I told him daddy will come back soon to sleep next to you. I plant a kiss on his forehead. Lights off.

May 10, 2006Today I got frustrated. Please tell me if I did it all wrong because I felt a bit guilty after that. I have been receiving a lot of crank calls at my house phone. A few of them when pick up, you can hear sound but the caller is silent. It gets on my nerve when I received those especially when you are doing something important.
Yesterday, I reached home late because I had a long meeting at the office. I picked my son just in time and go buy dinner. I had to have my shower and dinner so that I can pick Emily too. You can say I was in a rush. Suddenly the phone rang just when I was about to put my mouth on the deliciously smelling Singapore fried mee hoon. I picked up the phone, the caller which sounded like a child.
Caller: hello
Me: hello
Caller: hello
Me: hello, may I help you?
Caller: hello *this can go on forever*
Me: WRONG NUMBER *frustrated tone* 😡Later after 30 seconds, the phone rang again. It was my SIL. :wall:
SIL: CC (my nephew) wants to talk to Tim. *I haven’t have my dinner and rushing. Here she is encouraging her son to play with the phone. EFNTD*
Me: Tim, CC wants to speak to you.
Tim put his hear on the phone, knowing him, he will not say anything. I had to hold the receiver for him and my tummy is growling.
Me: CC, please can you pass the phone to your mother.
SIL: Hello.
Me: Sorry, yeah I haven’t have dinner and I need to pick up Emily. I have to end the conversation here.
SIL: CC just wants to talk to Tim. Ok. Bye bye.*Steam up*. After a while, I kind of felt guilty at shouting “Wrong Number”. Sigh. Maybe my screw up hormones is making me frustrated.
On a happier note, after my dinner, I took the children to play in the indoor playground. Die, every time I go there, I spend at least RM50 in the supermarket. Hrmm. Maybe that is their marketing scam by putting the playground there. No more buying next time.

My Mother’s Love
May 8, 2006This blog is dedicated to my mom. I never knew how my mother’s love could be so unconditional and sacrificial until I become a mother myself.
My childhood years:
I remember that I was a sick child. I get fits from fever and my fever can go up above 100 degree. Every time I get a fever, she will be very worried. One time, I remember she carried me out to find a doctor in the evening. She didn’t stop until she found one. The doctor was about to close his clinic. She begged him to examine me. He did because of my history of fits. Fortunately I out grew it after I was 5.
My teenage years:
A funny moment came, when she explained to me how menstruation is like. I had like 101 questions to ask. She thought me how to use a pad and how to throw it away properly.
My mom always waited for me when I come home late. No matter how late, she will not sleep until I return home safely. She gave me lots of freedom to go out with my friends. She even allowed me to sleep over at my best friend’s house when I was in Form 3.
One thing she never allowed me to do is to date before I finished school. One time, I was talking (boiling porridge) on the phone with a boy, casual chatting. She purposely called me to do things so that I will hang up. I was a good gal, never in a serious relationship during my study years.
My University years:
She felt really sad when I had to go abroad to study. She cried. The night before, she told me that I have to be careful with the western culture. You know them being open to SEX. Maybe she was afraid I will marry a westerner. 😆 It will be real cute with mixed grandchildren, I always tease her.
My Working Live:
She constantly makes sure I am on top of my health. Every day, she will boil soup for me to drink. Even now, whenever I return, she boiled my favorite soup, the seaweed soup (“Kuan Bo Hoi Choe”) and cook her delicious food for me. She is one good cook. I miss her cooking.
Her most embarrassing moments:
My brother was having a little party with his church friends. My mother returns home and saw a birthday cake. She asked loudly, “Wow, whose birthday is it?” Everyone look at her. I whisper to her, “Today is your son’s birthday”. She blushed.
One time she sent me a birthday card but she forgot to sign or write her name. I didn’t know who sent it to me. For a moment, I thought I had a secret admirer. 😉 Nope, she called and asked me whether I received the unsigned card. 🙁
She is always the shield when my dad got angry with me. She was always there when I needed her. Although she never utter words of love, her actions show it all.
Mom, I really appreciated all that you have done. I will certainly follow your foot steps to pass down your love to my children.
HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!!!

May 8, 2006Wow, 1 week has passed. 5 more to go. Let’s hope hubby’s project is on track and no delay. Today, nothing special happened, more like day 2.
By the way, for those who do not know, I have to go for a surgery to remove my swollen thyroid. I will ask for a second opinion soon when I get a panel doctor referral letter. The first doctor referred me to a surgeon. Of coz he will suggest surgery. I think some time back I blog about unplanned hospital stay, no escape for me. Pray  for me yeah. If really I have to go for surgery, I will do it right after my hubby returns.
Ohh, I have another big mission coming up. Tell me if I am crazy. I will bring my 2 children to travel to KL on AA flights, this Friday. I booked this in December when it was free, not totally, still have to pay for fuel and airport tax. The only thing I am worried about is the LCCT. Let’s hope it is not as bad as it sounds. I will sure give you my first hand experience next week.
That’s the report of the day, signing out now. *yawns*

Protected: 6WM – Day 6
May 7, 2006As usual, I bought the children to church at 8:30am. Both were angels, no fighting or making noise during the service. When the sermon came on, they both were sent to the nursery to play with other kids. I could hear the interesting sermon today. I learn that we need to do just the one thing, to live for him. All of us in leaving in layers, and when we peel all the layers away, what is left is our soul, which he has saved. All other things do not matter. Opps sorry, hope I am not confusing you here. :sc:
Later in the evening, my MIL called, we had dinner together with PIL, BIL and SIL. After that, I took the children to supermarket to get some fruits and snacks. They had a good time at the toys department store. Playing at every toy there is. Nope, I didn’t take any home. Emily didn’t want to go after I told her we have to go home. I had to carry her away. Even while at the paying counter, she tried to find her way back to the toys department. I had to grab her back.
Today hubby called and chat with the children again. The connection was not very clear, he couldn’t hear me well. I am glad he is enjoying himself there. Hehehe, I just send him a shopping list. Anyone want anything from US? 😆

The Sound of Water
May 7, 2006I love the sound of moving water. I love it especially when it rain at night. It gives me a peaceful feeling. The other day, I saw a colleague of mine with a new small aquarium. It looks so lovely. It has 2 lovely green plants with a wood like stone and the based is filled with little stones. She placed it on her office desk.
I told my hubby about it and we decided to go shop for an aquarium. My hubby wanted to have an aquarium for a long time. I put it off until my children grew up. I guess now is the right time. We went to Air Hitam Aquarium store. It was fairly big with all kinds of accessories, tanks, fish stuff and fish.
We got a medium size tank with filter and pump, green plants, small stones for the base, wood like stone, a mickey mouse diver, sunken ship and a small oxygen pump. We also bought 10 guppy fish.
After a few days, all the fish died and I thought guppy fish was the easiest to take care. :sc: It must be the water with too much chlorine. My hubby put another cap of anti chlorine. He bought a new batch of fish. So far it has no problem. I can sit and stare at the aquarium and be mesmerized.

May 6, 20068:00am Children woke up and they were playing in the room but I am half awake so I continued sleeping.
9:00am Phone rang, MIL called. I had to answer. 🙁
9:15am Children watching VCD while I prepared food to cook.
9:45am Children have fun with water play in the bathroom. I took out the swimming pool and put it in the bathroom for them to have fun. The weather outside was gloomy and I don’t want them to catch a cold. They were splashing here and there, making bubbles.
10:45am I cooked lunch, ABC soup and pan fried dory fish.
11:30am Lunch. After that they had fruits and 2 scoops of ice-cream. Their facial expression change when they saw the ice-cream.
1:30pm I send them all up to have nap and I joined them later.
3:30pm Both woke up and played in the room.
5:30pm I ordered pizza, cheesy meatballs and deli wings from pizza hut. They love pizza.
6:30pm We went out to play at the garden. I wanted to take them to shopping, but the thought of weekend crowd, rather stay at home.Emily wanted me to accompany her to sleep. She cried when I walk out of the room. I pat her to sleep and she slept in a few minutes.

Protected: 6WM – Day 4
May 5, 2006Today I was working from home, as I always do especially on Friday. During lunch, I picked Emily back for a while, to play with her. As I was doing some stuff, Emily was playing in her play house. Suddenly BOOM. She cried. I went to her, saw her hands got blood. Her eye lid was cut, not sure what cut her. Just like little skywalker, a little bit more can cause blindness. I took some tissue and tried to put pressure on the wound to stop her from bleeding. She was still crying and pushing my hands away. After about 1 min, bleeding stop, she doesn’t allowed me to dress her wound. She only allowed Winnie the Pooh plaster, which I put on. Later her nanny, put some Chinese medicine on her wounds. She looks good, let’s hope no permanent scar.
In the evening, I took the children to indoor playground. They have fun there. The rides are free. Daddy called in the evening to chat with the children. Today the children stayed up way passed their bedtime. I guess they can sleep in with mummy tomorrow.

May 4, 2006Yesterday I asked Emily where is papa, she said kai kai. I ask Timothy, he said in US. Not sure whether he understands. Today I asked Emily again, she said papa in US. This morning, Timothy asked for papa. I guess he must miss papa some how.
I played with them today and make them giggle before bedtime. Timothy was telling me what he does in school.
Yesterday, I realized that I kept all my soft toys in the store room. I took out some for them to play. Now they are crazy over Winnie the Pooh and Tiggr. I have a small collection from McD. Emily was hugging everyone of it.

Cry
May 4, 2006Both my children have different expression when crying
Emily:
She will move her mouth downwards. In Cantonese, it is called “been chui”. Then she makes crying sound or sometimes yelling. Later her tears will flow out. She will put her fingers into the mouth. She will then roll on the floor. If you try to pick her up, she will struggle to get away. For a little gal, she has strength like a bull. If you leave her alone for a while like 1-2 min, later go saying her, she will stop.
Timothy:
He will move his eyebrow like a china man look with two of them pointing at the nose. Then his tears will flow and sound will come. He will start rubbing his eyes with both of his hands. At one time, he rubbed so hard that the skin near the eye went red and bruise a little. He will find mummy and put his head on mummy so that I can sayang him. He will stop once I sayang him.
