    • Parenting Tip #10 Persistent with Food

Children taste buds are developing. They may reject some food now but it doesn’t mean they will reject it forever. They need time to acquire some food. I would say be persistent in asking them to try out new food or vegetables.

Most children will not like to eat vegetables especially those with leaves. My children reject them at times but will eat them occasionally. Sometimes I will cut them up very small and mix it with their rice. If they don’t notice, it will go down to their tummy.

I remembered Emily doesn’t like broccoli. She will just take potato and carrots. Now she takes broccoli, cauliflower, potato and carrots. She loves ketchup too. Occasionally she will eat leafy vegetables. Similarly with Timothy. I think both of my children are fussy eaters.

    1. you can consider your kids are ok..i know some kids totally reject vegetable until the parents also headache..

    2. Tim and Emily can shake hands with Destinee. She likes potatoes and carrots too. Whenever I ask her what soup should mommy boil, she’ll without hesitation say “ABC soup”. I’ve to find all kinds of excuses to ‘beg’ her to eat her veggie or meat. She likes certain leafy veggie and only takes fish. She’s one picky eater. Real headache.

    3. i included loads of veges in shern’s meal since he was a baby. now he eats everythin green, especially the leafy one.
ya, cuttin it really small does make the trick.

    4. Mine are fussy eaters too. Chopping vege into smaller pieces is a good idea. I make fruits and vege juice for them, at least better than not eating vege.

    5. Actually.. my Zara.. aigh.. can try many many times.. and if she doesn’t like it.. she doesn’t like it. 🙁
