Stage Fright
Emily experienced her first stage fright. She was happily singing in church this morning. The Sunday school teacher told the children that whoever can memorize Philippians 3:14 will get a small gift. She practiced hard and could repeat it very well throughout the week. So did Tim.
The verse goes like this:
“I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus”
She was all excited wanted to get the gift, she put up her hand and the teacher called her up to the front. She went up in front of the crowd and forgot what she wanted to say. She looked at the teacher blankly. The teacher asked her to sit down. She sat down. I saw her disappointed face and I can see her very nervous.
I cheered her up and she was back to normal. After the class was over, I talked to the teacher telling her that Emily was working hard to memorize the verse but she was too nervous. The teacher was nice and told her to say the verse. She could recite in front of the teacher and the teacher gave her the gift. She was very happy. By the way, Tim had his stage fright last few weeks too.
