The Pacifier
Talk about bad timing, my hubby decided to cut Emily’s pacifier yesterday. She was not in a good mood and mummy had a 12 midnight conference call. When my hubby gave her the cut pacifier, she threw it away. She cried and ask mummy to take another one for her. When we do something like this, we will anticipate some crying. However she really beat the record, she cried from 9pm – 11:30pm, interval of 15-20 minutes of sleep. So much for getting a nap before my meeting.
As I was leaving the bedroom, she wailed even louder. I could hear her from my study room. Oh well, this is not really a good time to wean her. I took her spare pacifier and gave it to her. Everyone had a good night sleep while I attend my meeting.
Yawn, so today at least a few cups of caffeinated tea to keep me awake in work. I guess I have to try this again in Dec.

Aiks, i feel its a bit cruel to cut off the pacifier instead of taking it away. Kesian lah…

Emily sounds like one ‘strong willed’ child….he!he! stronger willed than you..till you have to give in. No joke, cried for so long. I’m just glad that ‘pacifier’ is something alien to my boys .but then..I’ve my boys have their own eating problems..sigh.

Hahaha, I still remember Tim’s story. I tried dat method but failed. 🙁
Yiippeee, I finally weaned Des off her pacifier on the 30th April, 2006! I told her the bad bad monkey stole her ‘choot choot’ away.
From the way, I guess u will really be having a hard time weaning off Emily from her pacifier. The girl of urs seems to be more stubborn than her kor kor. Hahaha, anyway, happy trying!

Jess: We have to wait when they are older and can really understand. Then we can talk some sense into them. :giggles:
Julian: Maybe we can invent the pacifier patch, we’ll be rich.
Magictree: My boy was also a strong willed child, now he has changed. Hope Emily will change!
Sasha: Wow, so early you want to take away his precious pacifier? Sure a not?
Huisia: I think we failed because the time wasn’t right.
Tracy: I will try again, mummy also very stubborn. :giggles:

Boy.. bad timing to start weaning.
I guess you will have to try again another time.. in a better situation.
I find that nowadays they can really cry huh? Zara too.. when she starts her crying.. she can go on for 1hr to 1.5hr.. tiring for mummy. :wall:

Chanel: Yes, that was Tim’s pacifier. I will take her cut pacifier tonight and post it. For their memory. :giggles:
Jazz: Faythe is a very compliant gal.
Sasha: All the best to you! Keep us posted.
Zara’s mama: Yeah, at the age of 2, they know how to use the “crying weapon”. Sigh.
