FUN WITH HOUSEWORK

  • MyBabyBay

    • The first song that Timothy learn that melt my heart was this song.

        Mummy Daddy I love you
        You know I love you
I know you love me too
That’s why I sing for you.

Children can do things that make our heart melt and it does not require any big effort. Emily also learns to sing while she was in school. She loves the closing Barney song and it comes with action.

I love you, you love me
        We big happy family
        With a great big hug
And a kiss from me to you
*come around and give a big kiss on my cheeks*
        Won’t you say I love you too…

She loves to sing this as well besides the twinkle twinkle little star and bla bla black sheep.

        Someone knocking at the door.
        1 and 2 and 3 and 4
*showing the numbers on her fingers*
        Open open open wide
        How do you do?
        Please come inside

I just want to capture all these songs for remembrance.

    • Boy Or Gal?

      April 5, 2007

How do you teach your child the difference between boy or gal? I was having that trouble and put it off until they understand. However yesterday I found that Tim can really differentiate who is boy and who is gal. Really, I don’t know how he learnt it. Emily is still struggling with it.

      Mummy: Daddy
      Tim: Boy
      Mummy:Mummy
      Tim: Gal
      Mummy:Timothy
      Tim: Boy
      Mummy: Emily
      Tim: Gal
      Mummy: Mickey Mouse
      Tim: Boy
      Mummy:Minnie Mouse
      Tim: Gal
      Mummy:Pinocchio
      Tim: Boy
      Mummy: Peter Pan
      Tim: Boy
      Mummy:Wendy
      Tim: Gal
      Mummy:Genie (in Aladdin)
      Tim: Boy
      Mummy: Gu Ma
      Tim: Gal
      Mummy: Gu Cheong
      Tim: Boy
      Mummy: Por Por
      Tim: Gal

As for Emily: I am a gal, kor kor is a boy, papa is a man and mummy is a woman.

Emily: Mickey mouse is a gal.
      Mummy:Mickey is a boy.
Emily: No Mickey is a boy.
Mummy:Minnie mouse is a gal but Mickey is a boy.
Emily: Mickey is a boy. *want to cry*
Mummy: Tomorrow you ask papa whether Mickey is a boy or gal. *if I go on, she will sure cry*
Emily: OK. Emily is a gal.
      Mummy: Yes.

    • Imitation

      April 4, 2007

Guess who is Emily copying? She is copying someone and trying to imitate a little gal who is very talented in singing with actions. After watching the video, she kept asking me to play it over and over again. While playing, I took my camera and record it down. She is not even close to what the little gal is doing. I must really ask the teacher (little gal) to teach her when she meet her real life.

    • You know how children are, they love to eat sweets, choc, candy, chips, ice-cream and junk food. Usually I will limit my children taking all junk by telling them, if you have too much, it can cause you to cough. They will listen to me and stop eating, or reserved it for later days.

Last week, Emily was not in a good mood because she wanted to play at the playground after church. However it was lunch time and we had to go for lunch. At the lunch table, we ordered chicken rice for both Tim and Emily.

Emily: Mummy, I cannot take rice.
      Mummy: Why?
Emily: It will make me cough cough, see. *pretend to cough*
Mummy: Don’t be silly, rice will not make you cough
Emily: *pretend to cough*, got ah.

However, I did manage to feed her ½ plate of rice and chicken. When she is not in the mood, she will think of cheeky ways to make things difficult.

    • Manageable Age

      March 28, 2007

Tim and Emily is in their manageable age when I do not have to constantly monitor them. They can practically play by themselves and watch TV. It is a burden off my shoulder. Then my friends will start to ask me, when are you starting your third one? I told them no thanks, 2 is enough. Yeah if I were younger I may think of it. Now I am at the age where my energy wears down easily.

Once I did dream of having at least 6 children. It will be more fun during festive season to have a big crowd at home. People yakking and having fun.

Now since both Tim & Emily have grown, I will start planning for more vacations with them. I still have 1 worry, I hope that Emily has a stronger immune system, so that she will not fall sick easily.

    • Timtraman & Emtaro

      March 26, 2007

Look! It is Timtraman and Emtaro in action. I got them some mask for them to play. It cost RM3 each, so costly hor. Anyway the mask is a good quality one with holes so that they can breathe easily. It has been a long time since I saw this mask. I remember when I was young, I used to play mask with my brother. It was made out of paper cardboard. You know the 10 sen kind of quality. My children ones are made out of plastic. Oh well times have change.

What do Timtraman and Emtaro do? They make me laugh when they wear the mask. Both are my lovely heroes and I know I can count on them to rescue me when I am not in a good mood. I also got them some foam sword for play fighting. Those foam material is pretty safe, not painful when it hits. Of coz play under supervision of parents or any adult.

    • Everything Goes Up

      March 21, 2007

Today I sent Emily to her babysitter. I was thinking of doing in 1st of next month, easy to manage my payments. However after Emily recover from her wheezing problem last week, she attended school on Monday and caught flu, sneezing for 2 days with runny nose with fever. Sigh, I had to work from home yesterday to monitor her. At her age, she is easy to manage, she can play on her own and watch TV by herself.

The babysitter used to take care of Emily, since she had some medical problems, she had to stop. That was the reason I had to send Emily to school. Now she is willing to take care of her again, with one condition 10% extra pay. She justified by saying she will add more fish to Emily’s diet. Sigh, everything seems to go up, petrol, food, electricity bills, water bills, etc…

Let’s pray and hope my Emily will develop a stronger immune system with the 10% increase of fish in her diet.

    • School or Saloon??

      March 15, 2007

Every time Emily comes back from school, she will have a different hair do. Some teachers in the school love to tie Emily’s hair. It is not just one style but every day different styles. They even put ribbons on her. I get to learn new styles too. Her hair can be very messy if it is not tie up properly. At least she sit down and let me braids her hair.

Next month onwards, she will be looked after by her previous babysitter. My hubby and I decided to let her stay with the babysitter instead of school/nursery. The reason is that she gets sick very often when in school, every other month she gets runny nose. Germ is passed around very easily from one child to another. I hope she will not missed school. I know she will miss her favorite teacher Miss Jenny. I am sure all the teachers will miss her or miss braiding her hair.

    • The Usual Weekend

      March 10, 2007

Somehow my weekend passes very fast. Usually my children will make me exhausted. Sometimes early in the morning I will cool lunch or we visit the parks. In Penang, there are many great parks like Youth Park or Metropolitan Park where there is a big huge playground for children. If it is a hot day, there are indoor park at the hyper mart such as GIANT or TESCO. By the way, the rides in Giant are free.

After that, the children will take a nap after lunch. We all sleep together as a family. They will have 1-2 hours nap. Sometimes Emily can sleep up to 3 hours with mummy. Towards the evening, we either do some shopping or hang out in Borders for the children to read some books. We cannot do much as hubby wants us to sleep early to wake up early for Church on Sunday.

Sunday are mostly reserved for Church activities, such as morning service, Sunday School for the children and Family Cell Group in the evening. Family Cell Group is where the family of an area gathers together for a short bible studies, prayer time and makan time. That’s it for the weekend.

    • While I was away in my previous business trip, my hubby had fun with the children. He worked with the children and taught them to do housework. They find it fun and all excited with it. Someone asked me how I can manage 2 without a maid. Oh well, just get the 2 of them to share the load. :giggles: Thank God for giving both lovely children to me.
