I was back to my hometown with my kids. People always say that they go back to their quiet hometown that is away from the city. However I am just the opposite where my hometown is the city. It is a good thing because it will be SHOPPING TIME!

Indeed, I was at Ikea, the usual visit every time I go back to KL. Someone got me a birthday gift. Yeah I always wanted to change my messy table. The chipped wood on top of my table is coming off.

      Tada….my new table….

I like this table because it has white board for me to write down my work things and also reminders. It is also for my children to leave important messages there. Cool eh?!

      May 7, 2013

My girl like me, likes to stay up at night. One night, she didn’t want me to know that she went past her bedtime. She thought she did something quietly. I was working at my study room down stairs. Suddenly I heard water flowing, I thought one of my tap wasn’t turned off properly.

I went to check the toilets. Surprise! Surprise! I saw my girl awake past midnight. I stood next to her. She got surprised and asked me what I was doing…..??!!

I asked her what she was doing. She told me that she didn’t want to flush so she used the water pipe to flush instead. The reason she didn’t want to flush to avoid creating any noise so that I won’t know she is awake past midnight. However the water flowing from the pipe is noisier.

It was kind of cute when I caught her. I remember during my childhood days, I used a touch light to read under the blanket.

Not The Burger, although I miss it!

Last week, my hubby had to go outstation for work. It left me with 2 kids and lots of fetching to do. To add to it, I had to work as well. I am glad that I could work from home. Really, the tough part was waking up early in the morning to fetch one to school.

Friday was the worst, I gout out of the house 7 times due to 2 dental appointments, school and other activities arranged. Note to self, always make dental appointment during school holidays. I am glad it was over.

My kids were so well behave and they prepared themselves for school with no fuss. Wake up, shower, dressed up and eat, all by themselves. Actually all I need to do is to take them from A to B. They sure grown up very fast.

At the end of it all, I rewarded them with a special dinner and moist chocolate cake! Slurp……

      April 15, 2013

Something simple for the family, whipped this up in 30 minutes. The fried calamari is done using a borrowed air fryer.

By the way, the custard apples is from my very own tree. The thermal pot has my favorite homemade delicious minestrone soup.

    • Lego Mini Figures

      April 15, 2013

I am a fan of Lego Mini Figures Series. I collect those that are unique. The packaging of these mini figures make it hard for us to know what is in it. Often, I have to feel and determine what is inside. Sometimes I get it correct and sometimes not. However I am getting better at it.

Once I have gotten 7 that I wanted. 7 out of 7, unbelievable. A tip is to feel the weapon or accessories that the mini figure comes with!

    • I didn’t plan much for this school holiday because it is a short one. In order to keep the children busy at home, I got them a science kit from Radio Shack. It has 101 projects to build different electronic experiments. Definitely a fun way to learn about electronics. The instructions are easy to follow. Different parts are color coded and easily snap together. I would recommend to any parents.

I also took them to the Big Bad Wolf book sale and they got tons of books to keep them occupied for the holidays.

I guess we will have fun here and there without spending much money.

That’s a metal detector that she is building below:

      March 25, 2013

One day my girl came and showed me what she did on iPad. It has nothing to do with any games. In fact she learned to use KeyNote (from iWork) and created a simple presentation. She does have my genetics. How she learn it? Apparently by following the computer based training. I am so proud of her.

By the way, I only learn how to do presentation when I was in my University. I had to use the old fashion Word Perfect. There is no drag and drop, tool bars nor user friendly menu. It is mainly command generated done on command line. Yeap, that’s my generation!

    • Funny Argument

      March 4, 2013

Kids, they argue all the time. I guess it is part of growing up. One day, Em complained about her school. She drew some pictures on the white board to show me why she was unhappy. Too bad I didn’t take any pictures of that.

Timothy looked at the white board and made a comment about her picture of her teacher look like an Eskimo. The rest of the argument is in this picture below. I really like her drawing.

    • Here wishing everyone a blessed Chinese New Year!

This year my family hosted CNY reunion dinner. Usually we would have it in my mother in law’s place but she told us she wanted to rest. My hubby and I offered to host it. It is the first time to host CNY dinner. I had the menu in mind but shopping was kind of last minute.

I am glad we had a great meal together!
