Children Favorite Character
October 6, 20074 CommentsMy children favorite character is Mr. Bean. Someone send this to my hubby and I thought I will share it with you.

Credits: Mr Bean
Believe me, my children just love looking at him. We even got 3 cartoon series on Mr Bean, the red, green and yellow. I guess he is love by the adult and children too. If you are sleepy after a heavy lunch, just look at the gif to wake you up. It is more healthier than coffee.

My Turn… My Turn…
October 4, 200710 CommentsEvery time Tim and Emily got back from the babysitter, Tim will help mummy to take the dirty laundry up to the laundry basket. Yeap, my babysitter no longer wants to wash their laundry. It is alright because we have a thing call washing machine.
However Emily seeing his brother does that, she wants to help. She does that all the time, whenever she sees the brother do something, she wants to fight over it. I asked Tim to let her do take the dirty laundry up. Tim was not happy but mummy told him that he can help mummy do other things.
After Emily does it a few times, she stopped. I saw the dirty laundry on the floor.
Mummy: Emily, how come the laundry is on the floor? Please can you take it up to the basket?
Emily: It is kor kor’s turn. I did it already
just now yesterday.Mummy: You said you wanted to do it.
Emily: It is kor kor’s turn. *she changed subject*
Now it ends up no one doing it. First they fight for it, later end up no one does it. Sounds familiar?

Lantern Expo Turns Sour
October 2, 20076 CommentsLast Sunday, I brought my family to the Lantern Expo in Autocity in the mainland Penang.
One thing I was frustrated was this which I think most of you would misinterpret like me. Here are the admission fees written in their leaflet:
Adult: RM15
Children below 12: RM10First thought come to your mind?? Do they consider children above 12 as an adult? By the way, when I got there, they told me that children below 3 AND below a marker is free.
1. What does the height got to do with looking at lanterns? If you want to charge a child, do it upfront, no need to use height as an excuse. Are you discriminating tall children??!!
2. I ask them where is the marker, the staff pointed at the railing that was the divider to the queue. No proper marker, just any railing the staff point to and they pointed to the lower bar. I like WHAT? :shoot:
That’s it, I will boycott Autocity for any future event!! Most of the lanterns were of Kitty Cat and Dinosaurs.

Who Is The Handsome Man?
September 29, 20074 CommentsHubby went for a hair cut today. Emily came home from babysitter and saw his daddy. Immediately she said “Wow, Handsome Man”. Hey she stole my lines. She made daddy so happy.
Later she told me that she wanted a hair cut with me. I was wanted to cut my hair because it is really long. I always postponed it because every time I want to go cut, something pops up. Emily wants to cut hair with me. She wants to sit next to me.
I am glad that both my children can go to the saloon and cut hair without any problem. Timothy goes to the barber and it only cost RM5. Emily didn’t have a hair cut for a long time in the saloon. Most of the time, my babysitter or I cut for her. I will bring her to cut next week. Keeping my finger crossed.

Who Eat My MoonCake?
September 26, 200710 CommentsTim adores MoonCake. Every time we passed by a moon cake, he will want me to buy for him. Funny he eats everything except the egg. Today is the day (Thanks Annie Q for reminding me) that we Chinese celebrate the Mid-Autumn Fest aka The Lantern Fest aka The Moon Cake Fest. There is a very interesting legendary if you have read the Chinese History.
Why MoonCake? During the Chinese war, the ministers used moon cake to pass secret messages. The messages were hidden in the moon cake. It all happens during the Mid Autumn Festival. There are other stories about the rabbit and the lady on the moon which is legendary.
Today the tradition especially for children is to carry their lighted lantern and walk around the neighborhood or park or swimming pool. That’s what we did. There is just one glitch because I forgot that today was the day and I ran out of candles. I could only get birthday candles which burned out very fast.
Why no MoonCake pictures on this post? That’s because Tim wallops all of it before I can take any pictures.
Happy Moon Cake Festival to all my readers!!!!

Boys Toys Girls Toys
September 25, 200710 CommentsI took Emily to get the Ultraman gift for Timothy for his reward. Timothy was attending art class and could not go with us. I asked Emily to pick a nice Ultraman for her brother. It was not very successful because she was looking for one for herself.
I know Timothy like the blue Ultraman but there was only one left, it was a small one but with a huge plane. Emily picked a huge red one for herself.
After I picked Tim from class, he was not happy as his blue Ultraman is smaller. However I told him that there isn’t a big blue Ultraman. Anyway he was ok with it.
Tim: Ultraman is for boys.
Emily: No, I want to play Ultraman.
Mummy: Girls should play dolls. *trying to tease her*
Tim: Ultraman for boys. Dolls for girls.
Emily: Ultraman for Emily. I want to play Ultraman. *kissing her Ultraman*I don’t know about you but I am not afraid of Emily playing Ultraman. I am more afraid if Tim likes Barbie dolls.

Colorful Hippo
September 24, 20074 CommentsEmily has improved her coloring. Often she can hardly complete her coloring piece. She will color bits and pieces here and there but never complete a single piece. Today she finally did complete the picture of the hippo without help.

I find that oil pastel crayons are better for teaching a child how to color. With color pencil, the child has difficulty learning to color the entire picture without seeing any uncolored spots. I guess it is the way they hold their color pencils. Often before finishing the area, the pencil gets blunt. With pastel crayon, the crayon covers a wider area.
Oh well, not sure where Emily got the idea that the Hippo head is pink. :giggles:

He Can Read
September 20, 20079 CommentsToday I am so happy. First my son told me to put a new “Peter And Jane” book in his bag. I asked him why. He kept quiet. I ask him whether he read to his teacher. He said he did softly.
I took out the “Peter And Jane” book. He read it to me. Actually I had been doing the reading with him once or twice each week. He can recognize some words but not all of them. Today he can read the whole book. I am so proud of him.
His reward to encourage him: Two Ultraman Model. If you notice, he read to the teacher too. I guess he some how conquer his fear and anxiety. Thank God and the teachers for having so much patience with him.
Parents, do be careful when picking out a nursery or kindy for your child and I wouldn’t advice you to send your child too young (below 3) to nursery. Some timid children like my son may bury the fear inside if face with tough situation like fierce teachers.

Look Alike Meter
September 19, 20074 CommentsPeople kept telling me that Emily looks like my hubby and Tim looks like me. There was a small percentage saying she looks like me. For those who seen me and my hubby, who do you think she looks like?
As I was blog hopping, I saw in HuiSia and Julian post the look alike meter in the blog. In my mind, I can put Tim and Emily to the test and see where their good looks come from. The software does a scan on each picture: mother, father and child. After that, the result will show whether the child has the father or mother looks in percentage.
By now you are all anxious about whom Tim and Emily look like right? I was too. Anyway it is just a face recognition technology and it may not be 100% accurate. Before I show you the result, leave a comment to tell me whether Tim and Emily look like.
