Conversations & Doctor Visitation
July 14, 20068 CommentsEmily sulking on the kitchen floor, as usual. By the way, my dry kitchen floor is very clean. I have another wet kitchen which I do all the oily cooking.
Mummy: Emily, please do not sleep on the floor.
Tim: Yeah, ants come and bite you.
Emily: *ignore us*
Tim: Cockroach come and kiss… kiss… (*his brain working, thinking kiss is a good thing*) kor kor. 😆
Mummy: Why kiss kor kor and not Emily.
Tim: Kiss kor kor and bite Emily. Emily sleeps on the floor. :giggles:
Emily: *ran to mummy* Kor Kor crying. No ice-cream for kor kor.
Mummy: Why no ice-cream for kor kor?
Emily: Kor Kor crying. Only give Emily ice-cream.
Mummy: You still cough cough, cannot eat ice-cream.
Emily: *shake head* No more cough cough already.
Mummy: Go sayang Kor Kor first.
Emily: Kor Kor no cry ah.
The other day Emily was having fever, so I took her and Tim to the clinic. Ever seen children eager to go clinic? Both of them were very excited to go to the clinic. It has lots of toys in the waiting area. Plus, the doctor gives them surprises.
Emily & Tim took out their shoes.
Entered into the Clinic.
Emily stood on the scale to weigh herself. (12.2kg)
Emily grabbed a nice toy police car to play.
Doctor called Emily.
Mummy took her in and she sat on the chair closest to the doctor.
Doctor checked her heartbeat and temperature. (37.9)
Emily said “I want vitamin C *pointing at the big bottle*”Doctor continued to examine her, as he didn’t hear her because he was talking at the same time. Tim ran into the room, asking for the same.
At this point, Emily doesn’t like it because the doctor wanted to poke her mouth to check the throat. Mummy had to hold her down. She screamed and doctor was able to view her throat. (Red)
Doctor took a few vitamins C for both Tim and Emily. Both ran out to play.
By the way, consultation with the doctor here is RM20 per child and the rest is medication. Usually the antibiotic is the most expensive medicine, the rest is like RM10-20. This clinic is good as they put name and date of the medicine on the label. That way, I know what the medicine is and when it will expire. All the medicine is kept in the fridge. It saves some money, as I do not have to keep buying fever, cough and runny nose medicine.
I will be MIA for a whole week, so don’t miss me yeah. I will tell you all about it after I returned.

What’s That?
July 10, 20066 CommentsCuriosity has creep into Emily. Everywhere she goes, she will point and asked me “What’s that?” After I tell her the answer, she will repeat what I said. She learns as she goes. However sometimes, she just asked to irritate me. I will simply give her an answer. When the answer is not acceptable, she will not repeat but ask again. Sigh. At times, she already knew the answer but yet want to disturb me. I will ask her back and she will answer me.
She has been talking a lot lately. Mostly spoken in English, although she understands Cantonese, Mandarin and Hokkien.
Did I tell you, she doesn’t like anyone talking bad about her? One time at my family reunion dinner in KL, I was telling my family her bad habits. She climbed up to me, on the chair and put her hand on my mouth. 😯 Everyone laughed.
Lately, I think because of school, she has been very “siew hei” (meaning edgy), if she doesn’t get her way, she will cry. Nothing can distract her from crying. She will either stand in a corner or stay on the floor and sulked. She also wants to stick to mummy most of the time. I guess this is a passing phase, I have to tolerate until she gets over it.

Rest & Compliments
July 10, 20069 CommentsI am having a good time this week, no work but shopping, watching TVB series and rest. Shopping is one mode of resting. Anyway I was disappointed I cannot find things I want to buy. I got a wallet and a pair of working shoe. I think I have enough of rest. The doctor asked me “When you want to start work? Want some more MC?” I laughed. I told him that I will start work on Tuesday. Trick him, he thought he needs to write another MC for me. Monday is a replacement public holiday for Penang, Governor’s Day. I bet lots of people in Penang will stay up to watch the Final World Cup France vs Italy.
Don’t you think that when a lady received compliments, it feels so good? Someone told me that I look young. I know I am not, opps no offence to those older than me. There are certain kinds of people who just know what to say at the right time. Of coz it has to be said that it doesn’t sound fake. Hey all kinds of compliments work on me. :giggles: Now even I am not young, I feel younger. 😆
By the way, I am back to normal.

Emily’s First Day
July 4, 200613 Comments

Yesterday was Emily’s first day at school. I had to send her to school, as my babysitter was not in her good health condition to take care of her. She needs rest. I always have babysitters who have health problem, wonder why? One with thyroid problem, she went for an op like me, another with back pain and now this with kidney stones.
On Sunday, I prepared Emily for school. We went out to get her a pretty bag with a push handle. She loves it so much that she pushed it in around the mall. :eh: She didn’t want to let go of it until we reached home. She was all excited to follow Tim to school.
The day came, she happily sit in the car anticipating getting to school. She went into the school compound but she thought I will be joining her. Little does she know that I have to leave her there with the kor kor. Tip for parents, don’t stay if your child is crying and just leave ASAP. It will make matter worst if you do. After we left, she was back to normal. The teacher told us that she didn’t want to eat her lunch or drink milk. However, in the evening, she finished 3 biscuit and dinner.
When I picked her up, she was very happy kept telling me what she learned in school. She point to every thing that was hung in the nursery and tell me what it was. She was in a chatty mood too. Today the same episode she cried when she reached school. Now I guess she is enjoying herself. 😆

Iron Anniversary
July 1, 200612 CommentsToday is my marriage Anniversary. I almost forgot until hubby & friends wished me. No special night out, as I have to abstain from certain food. Probably postpone the feast until I can eat it all.
Bandage is off. I went to the doctor yesterday to take it out. It was about to come off after I had a shower, so much for waterproof bandage. I called the doctor to make an early appointment, gave me a surprised, the doctor answered the phone. I was expecting his nurse to take the message. 😯
After I was discharged from the hospital, my babysitter was admitted for stones in the kidney. I have to baby sit Emily while I recuperate. At this age, she is easier for me to take care.
I even took her to the doctor clinic to remove my bandage. I bought her a bottle of Vitagen. She sat at the chair while the doctor took off my bandage and spray some chemical to protect the wound. He went through the report, it looks good and everything is fine. The report had the picture of my goitre, anyone wanna have a look? It may be offensive to some. I thought I will not published it here. It looks huge. He gave the rest of my MC. As for Emily, she climb up and down the chair after the Vitagen finished.

Surgery
June 28, 200610 CommentsI am back!! I had my surgery on Monday morning and it was very successful that I recovered on the same day. The surgeon was surprised to see me so alert after the surgery. I am in not much pain. Anyway, it was over and I am glad.
The waiting for the surgery drove me crazy. I went in at 8:00am, kept asking the nurse when is my turn? It was schedule at 9:30am but only called to go into the operation theatre at 10:00am. Hehehe, I was anxious to get it done. I had terrible thoughts that I will not come out alive. I had 2 surgical on thyroid and 2 c-sect operations. Funny I wasn’t afraid when I had the c-sect, maybe because at the end I had something to look forward too, like Tim & Emily.
The first thyroid op was very frightening to me. I cried all the way into the op. It was my first ever and they left me in the cold and quiet waiting area. I was so frightened. They left me there for 10-15 minutes it is like forever. The one I just had was not so bad but the anaesthetic doctor prick me real painful. After many silly questions, they pushed me into the op theatre. They moved me to the op table. The spotlights were above me. Let me inhale some oxygen while the anaesthetic doctor pricks me some more. After that, I passed out and action begun.
When the surgery is over, the nurse will wake you up. You have to answer them, else they will keep calling and hit your face. They put me under a warmer and observed me for a few minutes. Later pushed me to the observation wad. That’s it. The first day, I am not supposed to eat anything. I had to wait for the anaesthetic to vanish from my body. It may cause vomiting if I did. I could walk down the bed and talk on the first day. 2nd day was very alert, could watch TV and eat. Third day, I was out of there. Anyway there was no rest in the hospital, nurses come in and out to check your temperature, BP and pulse. At 8am, they come in to change the bed sheets. Home is the best.
The surgeon is darn funny, at least he made me laugh. Laughter is the best medicine. Here are his funny remarks:
Surgeon: I am having flu but I didn’t have any chicken.
Surgeon: Later they will push you into the ops theatre, and the anaesthetic doctor will take a hammer and knock you out.
Me: My left lip is swollen, what happened in the op?
Surgeon: When they pull out the breathing tube must have injured your lip. Do you have a lawyer? You can sue the hospital for negligence, if you are in US.Me: I don’t have to take the pain killer if I feel no pain.
Surgeon: Are you a ninja? So tough ah?Thanks for those praying for me.
