    • Changing Topic

      April 22, 2006

My children learn the art of changing topic when confronted with things they do not like to hear.

      Emily’s Story

As I was picking her up from the nanny, as usual the nanny will talk about her.

Nanny: Emily didn’t want to eat rice, run here and there. I took the cane out, only she sit quietly to eat,

Emily interrupted: Mummy see. *pointing at the TV* So farnee. Hehehehe…see, mummy see.

Nanny: Emily, ni yo kwai tan, ma?. *spoke in mandarin* meaning are you a rotten egg?

Emily: Mummy shoe shoe, wear. Wear Shoe. Bye Bye Yi Yi.

      Mummy:

      Tim’s Story

Daddy: You sayang mei mei or not? *knowing he always bully mei mei*

Tim: Aiyo train long long one.

Daddy: Daddy asked you, you sayang Emily or not?

Tim: Later you buy me black car ah?

I really do not know where they learn it from but somehow both can just switch topic. Either children getting smarter or as parents, we are too easy on them.

    • All In A Day’s Work

      April 19, 2006

Last weekend I took my children to take their photographs for passport application. Hubby cannot do it with his camera because we have no spot lights and back drop. Emily didn’t cooperate. Every time we put her on the chair, she walked towards mummy. When mummy carry her on the lap, she struggle to get away. Fortunately mummy brought jelly and attracted her to cooperate. She looks a bit grumpy in the photo.

Today I brought them to immigration. We had breakfast, took our own sweet time to get there. I know if we go there before the office open, there will be people queuing up and takes a while for the officers to serve all those people. There will be a longer wait. By the time we reached there, at 9am, it was just right. I took the number and I was the next to be served. (This only apply to Penang Immigration, not sure about other state).

      Documents Required For Children:

    • Birth Cert & Copy
    • Either parent’s IC & Copy
    • 2 photos
    • RM150
    • They took Tim’s thumb prints. He was very excited when the officer took his prints. He kept telling me. Emily do not need to. We got everything done in 30 minutes, not bad. :good: However when we collect the passport, I need to bring them there again. 🙁

Later we went to the NRD, to change Tim’s birth cert. Apparently the ink on the birth cert smear onto the plastic cover. Cheapo ink I guess. I have to pay RM5 for that. NRD Penang change building, the place is so spacious with lots of chair outside the office. Not sure why they want so many chairs there. It is just a waste of tax payer money. Opps.

Next, my hubby wanted to change his religion on his myKad. Probably he felt left out when all of us have our religion as Christian, and his was Buddha. He is a Christian, so nothing wrong with changing. Funny it is not Buddhist but Buddha. Anyway the NRD have to redo the entire myKad, just to change a value in 1 field. I believe they cannot change any value in the smart chip or they do not have a chip writer. Oh what do I know?

Next half of my day, I went to work. I have been busy these few days. Left Right Center also got work. A few projects due in the same month. I have been sitting in the same place for 7 years and I have to move to another area. 🙁 The place I am sitting belongs to another company. It is rather complicated to explain. Maybe when I have time, I will blog about it.

By the way, I got to know this from DrLiew’s blog that you can read myKad using Astro. Go try it and have fun. I am too poor to own Astro.

  • Motorbike Accident

    April 18, 2006

Those motorbikers never learn, they like to beat the red light. :naughty: Today I witness an accident where this guy tried to beat the red light on his motorbike. He was looking at the wrong direction. A car came with quite high speed, crash onto the motorbike. I saw the guy flying upwards and down, landing on his bum. Fortunately, the car driver could slow down the speed and stop at the accident area, to reduce the impact of the crash. The car was badly dented at the side, I didn’t see what car she was driving. Anyway, the poor guy was sitting on the road, was still conscious but he was blur on what just happen to him. His motorbike is gone.

I really dislike those motorbikers who really think they can save time by beating the traffic lights and have no thoughts whatsoever on their life. In Penang, 7 out of 10 motorbikers will do that. It is so dangerous. If you are driving here, you should slow down when approaching the traffic light junction. You may not expect something will shoot out from another direction. Drive safely to save life. :good:

  • Disney On Ice

    April 17, 2006

I got some tickets to watch Disney On Ice over the weekends. Thanks to my friend who could get me 25% discount for the tickets. Tim was very eager to watch the show. He kept saying, he want to see Mickey Mouse, Buzz Lightyear and Incredibles which will be appearing. Every time, we pass by the poster, he will tell mummy he want to go watch.

The day came, we watched the 1 pm show, first show in Penang. Fortunately we went to see the first show, because later show have to wait outside the door for the previous show people to clear before they can entered. Imagine the hot sun.

The show was great, I enjoyed every bit of it. Emily didn’t. She slept through Act 1 and cried during Act 2. Probably she was too sleepy or hungry. She didn’t eat much at lunch time and mummy didn’t bring enough food to keep her happy. 😡

Anyway, it was not a big crowd. I would say 50% of the stadium was filled. My hubby took 200 shots, and here are a few for you to enjoy. I will certainly bring them to watch it again. By the way, I spend quite a bit to get those overprices souvenirs for Tim & Emily. The program book already cost RM30.

It was a great performance with a variety of fairy tales. I felt like I was in fairy tale land or in Disneyland. The stunts were ok, a few flips and twist. Music and dialogues were recorded. The program:

    Act One
    Overture
    Goofy and the Zamboni
    Aladdin
    Finding Nemo
    Beauty & the Beast
    Classic Princesses
    Toy Story
    It’s a Small World

    Act Two
    Mickey Leads the Band
    Pinocchio
    Mulan
    The Incredibles
    The Lion King
    Finale

  • Taiping

    April 12, 2006

Yesterday, my family went to Taiping, to visit the zoo. My children was very excited especially Tim who wants to visit the elephant. He watched Barney Zoo and that’s where he learned about the elephant. Apparently in Taiping Zoo, the last animal was the elephant, he was so impatient, kept asking where are the elephants.

The weather was solid. It was so gloomy, I thought it was going to rain, but it didn’t. We reached there about 9am and finished at 11am. At 11am, it was sunny and hot. Later we went to Lake Garden where the children have fun with the play ground. They had fun.

Next exciting thing we are going to: Disney On Ice.

  • Heavy Workout

    April 9, 2006

A panoramic view of the park:

On Saturday, I had to wake up early in the morning to see the eye doctor. I had to go to a couple of follow up after the last incident of infection. It’s free, so I take full opportunity of it. I went there to register myself, so that I will be the first one to see the doc. If not, there will be a long queue. Sometimes one patient can take an hour. Anyway my eyes are fine.

After that, I took the children to the park because it was a beautiful day, not too sunny and no rain. First they ran around the park, played slides, see-saw, horsy spring, swing and basically running around. Last time I used to follow Emily around, afraid she will fall. Now she is big enough, doesn’t fall so easily. I just watch them from afar, to make sure no big kids pushed them. The park was superb, it is big and has everything.

Later, they went to a workout area, actually it is for adult. They pretend they were doing workout, actually they just want daddy to take photos of them. It was a fun day with a breath of fresh air and a whole lot of sweat. What a good way to make them tired? 😆

  • Daring Stunts

    April 7, 2006

Tim did a daring stunt while mummy was not watching. I was in my study room surfing the Internet while he and the mei mei outside watching his favourite cartoon. He took 2 chairs and stacked it on top of each other. One flat chair on the bottom and a small stool on top. He climbed onto the chairs and jump from the back of the sofa, onto the sofa. I came out in time to see him do that. Never in my mind, he will do such a thing. Boys being boys, I knew this day would come.

I scolded him and beat him on the hand. I asked him never to do that again. What if he falls down and knocks his head. I told him, it would be painful. I think he was more frightened of being scolded than attempting a stunt like that.

  • School Registration

    April 6, 2006

I heard from my friend that the schools are opened for registration in March. During lunch time, I went to the school, hoping to register Timothy. The school officer asked me to come back next year March. 🙁

What documents required for school registration?

    1. Actual copy of the birth cert and a photocopy of it.
    2. Utility bill showing the address of your house.
    3. Pay slip for both parents. *not sure why they need it for*

By the way, I am registering him to national school. Why? Because mummy and daddy came from National school. I prefer to be able to help them with their studies. I want my children to be more relaxed without all the heavy homework. Life is not all about homework and As. I want them to learn with fun. No doubt learning mandarin is important. I will register them to extra classes for mandarin.

I heard that now in Chinese schools, they have English and Chinese subject for Maths and Science. Double homework for 2 subjects although the contents are the same.

Do check with your school of choice for registration info.

  • WHOOSHHHH

    April 5, 2006

Time flies so very fast, now my gal has grown so much. Either that or I am getting OLD. 😥 She outsmart mummy. Blame it on the DHA.

    Moments 1:
    Mummy: Emily, you want ice-cream?
    Emily: Iccce klim. *nod head*
Mummy scoop ice-cream into the bowl and pass it to her.
    Emily: Tank you mummy.

Mummy and Daddy were teaching Tim to say thank you after receiving something. Emily picked that up. Now every time she gets something, she say thank you.

    Moments 2:
Mummy: What you want to watch?
    Emily: Barney
Mummy: This one? *take something other than Barney*
Emily: Mm moi. Mm moi. *make hand gesture and point to Barney VCD*
    Mummy: This one.
    Emily: *smile* Barney.
Mummy: Go sit at the sofa to watch.
Emily: *swing her little butt and climb onto the sofa*

    Moments 3:
Mummy misplaced the air-condition remote control.

Mummy: Where is the remote control?
Emily: Here. *she point at the remote control*

Sometimes she tricks mummy, say here but nothing there. 😮

    Moments 4:
Emily dislikes putting on seatbelt. She is supposed to sit on her car seat but Timothy will rush and occupied the car seat. For short journey, I allow Emily to sit next to me without the car seat. When she starts standing or move around in the car…

    Mummy: Emily you want seatbelt?
    Emily: mm moi *shake head*
    Mummy: Sit properly

Emily will sit properly but later she will start moving again. Mummy have to keep repeating.
