Comfy Cubicle
March 12, 2007Through my working life in my current company, I never had a comfortable cubicle, don’t talk about privacy. My company is known for its open concept to a certain extend. Opps, I cannot reveal too much, just did a data privacy internal training. Anyway, I have seen many other companies cubicles that are more comfy but I never seen one my son Timothy did.
I was surfing the internet with my notebook while my children play by themselves. I took 2 pillows and stack it up high so that the screen is at my eye level. My son took his computer and followed what I did but he improved on my design. He is growing to be a very creative boy. Isn’t his cubicle comfy? Some more got arm rest. :giggles:

The Usual Weekend
March 10, 2007Somehow my weekend passes very fast. Usually my children will make me exhausted. Sometimes early in the morning I will cool lunch or we visit the parks. In Penang, there are many great parks like Youth Park or Metropolitan Park where there is a big huge playground for children. If it is a hot day, there are indoor park at the hyper mart such as GIANT or TESCO. By the way, the rides in Giant are free.
After that, the children will take a nap after lunch. We all sleep together as a family. They will have 1-2 hours nap. Sometimes Emily can sleep up to 3 hours with mummy. Towards the evening, we either do some shopping or hang out in Borders for the children to read some books. We cannot do much as hubby wants us to sleep early to wake up early for Church on Sunday.
Sunday are mostly reserved for Church activities, such as morning service, Sunday School for the children and Family Cell Group in the evening. Family Cell Group is where the family of an area gathers together for a short bible studies, prayer time and makan time. That’s it for the weekend.

5 Wishes For My Children
March 10, 2007It is getting a trend now, that I get a TAG every Friday night. *shivers*. If it is a reasonable tag like this one, I am happy to do it. Yes and Zara’s mama tag me on this. I never really thought about it but there are a few on top of my mind.
1. That they will honor God and accept the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior. So that I will be able to meet them in heaven. I think after they have done this one, God will take care of the following wishes.
2. That they will be healthy.
3. That they will at least get themselves into University.
4. That they will NOT put me in some old folks’ home when I grow old. *hint*
5. That they will be happy & contended in whatever they decide or choose to do. Always come to us, the parents for advice and willing to share everything with us. -
Backdated – Children Having Fun With Housework
March 9, 2007While I was away in my previous business trip, my hubby had fun with the children. He worked with the children and taught them to do housework. They find it fun and all excited with it. Someone asked me how I can manage 2 without a maid. Oh well, just get the 2 of them to share the load. :giggles: Thank God for giving both lovely children to me.

The View Buffet Lunch
March 7, 2007My department has a mini celebration and we had a scrumptious meal at Equatorial TheView. It has a view of the BJ Golf Course and part of Penang. We had limited choice in Penang for Lunch Buffet, not as many as KL. We also need to choose somewhere nearby. The meal, no words can express. You have to see it yourself. I love Oysters, look at those oysters on the bar. Someone joked that we have to calculate how many oysters we consume to breakeven the cost of the meal. The buffet had different salads, soup, different seafood, smoked salmon, lots of delicious dessert. Then there is the main course. After the meal, it was so difficult to concentrate with my work. Fortunately time flies through and it was 5:30pm.

Backdated – Minor Accident
March 7, 2007When we were traveling back from KL during CNY, we had a minor car accident. We were at Tapah, refilling our petrol tank. It was also when my husband took over. :giggles: A Mercedes car, he was not looking reversing and hit our bumper. I am not sure why my husband didn’t honk him. If I was in the driver seat, I will. Anyway, he got out and we got out to take a look at the damage done. My car bumper was scratched and slightly dented. His Mercedes was scratched too but who cares.
A negotiation took place. My hubby wanted to settle on the spot but we don’t know how much the damage costs. The driver kept very quiet but his friend or brother, whoever, did the negotiation. At first he gave us his contact details, later he wanted to pay us off. I said RM250, he said RM150. My hubby saw his details and saw that he was a Datuk. Aiyah, Datuk also cannot pay RM250. The driver another kind, reverse without looking. Bang my car never mind, what if he knocks someone down. I was surprised that his precious Mercedes didn’t have any reverse sensor. It is P** 8. I said we fixed it and give him the bill. He doesn’t trust our workshop. I asked him to recommend his and we will fix it with his recommended workshop. Finally he agreed to pay us RM200 and took away the details. We didn’t want any hassle, so we agreed. Vien said he should pay for frightening my children, as the bang was quite loud. :giggles: We didn’t think of that.
After the incident, Timothy always tell his dad, “Papa, drive carefully yeah, don’t crash the car” :giggles:

Butt Show
March 4, 2007Today, my residential taman had a Chap Goh Mei party at the open field. There were lion dance and some children dance performance. My hubby wanted to bring the children to see the lion dance. Along we went. When we reached there, was 30 minutes early, all the chairs were taken because families book chairs for their friends and relatives. After a while, we could gather some free chairs and sat waiting for the performance. They were 30 minutes late. That is not the worst part.
It started with a presentation of the lion dance drum performance. A boy age 5 year old was playing the big drum. He was fantastic and full of energy. Later the lion dance started. My children were happy too see it. After the lion dance performance, a whole bunch of pathetic, inconsiderate & selfish people decided to stand in front of the stage blocking people at the back. The host announced a couple of times to instruct them to sit down so that everyone can see the performance. They sat down but when the performance started, they did it again. It was useless, we were block and all we could see is people’s butt. We decided to head home and were disappointed.

Hot Argument
March 3, 2007While I was at the bank depositing my children’s angpow money, 2 people created a heated scene. Yes, the money is safer in the bank than in my house. There was a heated argument between the bank officer and a lady customer. I was standing 2 counters away from them. Anyway, their voices were so loud that every single soul in the bank can hear them.
Bank Officer: You want to pay or not?
Lady: I want to pay.
Bank Officer: What do you want to pay?
Lady: Pay all.
Bank Officer: Not enough cash.
Lady: I want to pay for my car loan.
Bank Officer: Just now you said pay all.
Lady: I want to pay for my car loan. *furious*
Bank Officer: You want to pay or not? *shouting – beh syiok*
Lady: Is this the way you treat your customer? I am your customer, why you are shouting at me? *shouting*
Bank Officer: When I asked you what you want to pay, you said you pay all. Now you said you want to pay for car loan. You don’t know what you want. *everyone is looking*
Bank Manager: *approaching bank officer whispering something to bank officer*
Lady: Is this how the bank treats your customer, you watch out?
Bank Officer: Ohh, you going to beat me up?
Lady: You just watch out.Bank officer still repeating himself loudly, probably want to get attention from the crowd and complete the transaction. Lady was furious, took the receipt and storm out, face all red. The boyfriend (*my assumption*) was cool as if nothing happen.
If I was the bank manager, I probably ask the bank officer to take a 5 minute break and service the lady. It is better solution than to have everyone looking at the heated argument. It must be the hot weather that makes them heat up.
By the way, the bank officer served me before, when I wanted to deposit a cheque to my gal’s account. He asked me why I don’t use the ATM machines. I told him, the account has no ATM card. I asked him for angpow packets, he said all finished. However, I smile I told him that I saw him giving another old lady more than 5 packets of angpow. Later then he gave me a few packets. He really has a weird attitude.
