    • Timothy is 5 years old today, officially tonight since he was an evening baby. He requested for a “Swimming Pool” cake for a very long time, a year I think. Every time someone’s birthday comes, he will ask me to get him a “swimming pool” cake. It is not exactly a swimming pool but a cake with have a pond.

We celebrated his birthday at his school. I have to prepare party packs for the children. In fact, my children have been receiving party packs all year round. Most party packs are food stuff which is not very healthy (lots of coloring). I decided to get some party toys, whistles, hats, balloons and fun stuff for the children. I also included raisins packs and small Mentos. Emily helps me to pack some of them. She does real cute things with them too.

I took ½ day leave to join in the celebration today while my hubby took photograph of the birthday event. He will do up a story slides later for my blog. It was really funny, when we enter the school compound, the children saw me carrying the cake and started singing “Happy Birthday To Timothy”. They were so eager to see the cake. Teachers were having difficulty controlling them. As it was school holidays, some teachers took leave.

After the song, candle blowing, cake cutting and eating, Timothy distributed the party packs. He looked blur at school but tonight I am sure he will tell me stories.

      Happy Birthday Timothy!!

    • Comfy Cubicle

      March 12, 2007

Through my working life in my current company, I never had a comfortable cubicle, don’t talk about privacy. My company is known for its open concept to a certain extend. Opps, I cannot reveal too much, just did a data privacy internal training. Anyway, I have seen many other companies cubicles that are more comfy but I never seen one my son Timothy did.

I was surfing the internet with my notebook while my children play by themselves. I took 2 pillows and stack it up high so that the screen is at my eye level. My son took his computer and followed what I did but he improved on my design. He is growing to be a very creative boy. Isn’t his cubicle comfy? Some more got arm rest. :giggles:

    • While I was away in my previous business trip, my hubby had fun with the children. He worked with the children and taught them to do housework. They find it fun and all excited with it. Someone asked me how I can manage 2 without a maid. Oh well, just get the 2 of them to share the load. :giggles: Thank God for giving both lovely children to me.

Ever ask your children what they want to be when they grow up? At the age, I was curious to find out what they want to be. At this moment, there are very few occupations they know. However, it is enough to stir their little brains to see what they like. It is good to analyst your child, to see what approach of discipline or actions you can take on them. Here is what my 4+ year old and 2+ year old want to be.

Mummy: What do you want to be when you grow up?
Tim: Arggg….I want to be a chef. I want to make delicious burger. *showing his cooking actions*
Emily: I want to be a doctor. *taking the toy stethoscope and play doctor*
Emily: Come, come let me check you. *take the stethoscope put it in her ear and the other end on mummy’s tummy, opps heart*

I will check with them again next year and see how it differs. :giggles:

    • Chinese New Year – 2nd Day

      February 20, 2007

I drove down to KL to meet my parents. There was not much traffic driving down. On the other side of the road was badly jammed. I think it started from Rawang all the way to Ipoh. While I was driving, I found that, there were overpriced cars (“Bs” & “Ms”) that were speeding. I seldom see those cars adhere to speed limit. I guess they are rich enough to pay the fine. Some doesn’t have the patience to wait for you to get off the right lane to pass through but cut through from the left lane. :snooty: I wonder where are they rushing to?

Anyway, in the car my children were practicing on wishing my parents “Gong Xi Gong Xi”

Mummy: When you see por por and koong kong, what must you say?
Tim: Gong Xi Fatt Choy *loud & confident*
Emily: Gong Xi Gong Xi Ne *singing*
Mummy: You must call por por and koong koong, yeah.
      Children: Okay

      At my parents place.

Mummy: What must you say children?
Emily: *hiding behind mummy and very quiet, staring at my parents blankly*
      Tim: *look away shyly*

So much for the singing and practice. It was much later when they got acquainted that they talked to my parents.

Mummy: Tim, don’t bully Emily yeah.
Tim: No ah, I just want to play with Emily.

Later, at the check out counter.

Tim: Nooooooo, don’t do that. Mummy see Emily poke me.
Mummy: Emily, why you poke kor kor?
Emily: No ah, I was just playing with kor kor.

    • Christmas Shopping

      December 21, 2006

Finally I am done with all my Christmas shopping. It is really convenient to have a big mall near where I worked. You can get everything in 1 place. Yesterday I took a long lunch break to get Christmas gift. I got 2 huge gifts for Tim and Emily, both the same thing, preventing them from fighting. With that, it has already burned a hole in my pocket. Anyway, this year my hubby and I got good bonuses, so why not. I really love to see their expressions when they open the presents. That is the 2 big yellow boxes. I got the gift idea from a blogger. Have a guess?

Next, my hubby is a Christmas Eve baby. I thought of getting him a cake that shape like a canon camera. I contacted Mama Min because Sasha was here in Penang, she offered to help me to deliver it. However I am a few days late, it was too short notice to do 1. I got him a gift that is as good, something related to his interest. That is the red gift.

The smaller yellow gift is for my nephew. Ohh, I also need to get 2 small gifts for the nursery Christmas party, they have a gift exchanging program. I donno about you, I just love giving out presents during Christmas. More joy for me in giving than to receive.

Mummy: Pa what cake you want for your birthday?
Tim: I want swimming pool cake.
      Emily: I want Tigger cake.
      Tim: Swimming pool cake.
      Emily: Tigger cake….
      etc…
Mummy: Hey Look! See what that uncle doing. *you get the point*

Have a Blessed Christmas To You and Great New Year!

    • Stool Conversation

      December 20, 2006

I was working on my computer in the study room, the children were watching their favorite cartoon.

Emily: Mummy, I want to ngor mm mm (pass motion).
Mummy: Please go and get the potty from the toilet. *She went to get her own potty*
Emily: Kor kor, mei mei ngor mm mm. Don’t disturb ah. Kor Kor, you don’t have any mm mm.
Tim: Yes, I got some mm mm. *He went to get potty*
Emily: Mummy, I finished my mm mm liao. Kor Kor still mm mm.
Mummy: Ok, let me clean you up.
Emily: So chau bi hor? (aka smelly)
Mummy: Yeap, you must drink lots of water so no chau bi lor.
      Emily: Mei mei drink already.

Emily has been learning lots of words lately. Her favorite word now is “queen spay al” as in Queensbay Mall.

I am also reducing biscuits in their diet. I heard from my SIL that biscuit cause heatiness which is why the stool is sometimes hard and smelly. I tried to replace it with bun, bread or cake.

    • Where?

      December 13, 2006

Daddy was setting up the swimming pool for the children to have some water splashing time. Whenever they hear swimming pool, they get all excited and grin from ear to ear. Our swimming pool is very easy to setup, no need air, just add water and it will stand on its own.

Anyway, Tim rushed to the toy box and pick up a fishing rod. We usually put all the pool toys in a bucket at the back porch. As usual, upon seeing the brother taking a toy, Emily would want the same. She wanted the fishing rod. I looked at daddy, ask him to look for it. He went to the back porch bucket and ran back upstairs to go through the toy box.

As he was finding, Emily said “Where is my fishing rod?” a few times. Timothy being a resourceful boy (from mummy’s gene) went to the back porch and retrieved the fishing rod for her. He yelled “Daddy I found the fishing rod already”. It is always difficult to ask my hubby to find things because he will never find it, even if it is right in front of him. Anyone knows why?
