Mybabybay 2.2.1
July 9, 2007Finally after 3 years, I have moved my blog from version 1.5.2 to 2.2.1. I was so used to the editor in 1.5.2 that I was reluctant to move. The editor is a simple form of text and code input where I can write code on it without any hassle. The new version restricts or mess up my codes.
However as time goes on a lot of new plugins do not work for legacy versions. I had to do something before my blog turn into antic and cannot be upgraded.
The process of upgrading a legacy blog is tedious. First I need to export the entire blog into xml format. The first extraction was 16MB and my host can only take 2MB. :wall: I learn that I had to delete some spam comments from my database. After deletion, it shrinks to 4MB. Not bad eh, still not good enough. I had to split the files into 2MB each.
Second roadblock, after I imported the post over, my PPP post have to be renumbered to match with what I submitted to PPP. I had to twitch the database to do that. Nothing complicated.
Third step, copy the links over using the database export and import.
Last step, the easiest, that is to copy the template by copying the template folder to the new blog.
All in a days work. Sorry for the technical boring post but it is an achievement for me. It feels good to successfully tackle roadblocks. I hope with this new version, you won’t face TCPIP or network error. If you do, sorry it is my host server fault.

Sunday Surprise
July 9, 2007I woke up from my nap and my hubby told me that there is a bunch of rambutan outside my porch. Today wasn’t even my birthday and I got a yummy surprise. My hubby called his dad to ask whether he bought it for us. It wasn’t him. We checked with our neighbors and it wasn’t them. Now who left it there? My hubby and I thought maybe someone left it at the wrong house.
Rambutan is in season and infact most fruits are in season this month. Yesterday, I was thinking of getting a bunch myself but I changed my mind. I guess someone read my mind today. Anyway, thank you to whoever you are, the delicious red fiery rambutan was great. By the way, I love receiving unexpected gifts. Two weeks ago, my US manager came to Penang and he never tasted rambutan before. How unfortunate and so much he is missing on. I had to bring him to Jusco and see what it was. One kind soul, the sale person cut the rambutan and mangosteen for him to try. He likes it. Next I offered him durian but he decline. :giggles: He and his manager were not very adventurous. It took him so long to eat the little red octopus and unagi from the Japaneses Restaurant.

How Vain Is Vain?
July 9, 2007Chinnee tag me on this Vain Tag. I took the quiz and I am happy with what I got. Total reflection of what I am. I am slightly vain, only 24% and I thought I didn’t have vain blood in my body.
You Are 24% Vain
Okay, so you’re slightly vain from time to time, but you’re not superficial at all.
You are realistic. You know that looks matter. You just try to make them matter less.
Next I am to announce my 7 Vanity Sense which is going to difficult. Hrmmm….
1. I bought a lot of nail polish from US, it is dirt cheap only 99 cents per bottle. They are all sitting in my cupboard collecting dust. I gave 80% away.
2. *check dictionary for the meaning of vain, just double confirm*
3. I like to take the hotel toiletries home when I am traveling. If I am staying in the hotel for 5 days, I will take 5 sets home. They are kept nicely in a box.
4. *peep at other people vanity tag post and see whether I can leverage to finish this tag*
5. I never dye my hair because I hate the smell and the long wait. I did straighten my hair once and vow never to do it again. I hate the smell.
6. I want to gain weight, at least 2 more kg.
7. I bought a COACH handbag, must have COACH written all over.

Throw Away Coloring Books
July 5, 2007I don’t have to buy any coloring books anymore. If you have a printer and a computer with Internet connection, you can print out any pictures your child wants. All you have to do is go to Google -> Images and search for “Coloring” and the choice of pictures. If you want pooh, type coloring pooh, mickey mouse type coloring mickey mouse and etc.. Click the Picture and click the thumbnail on the top to bring the picture onto the browser and print.
Timothy has been asking me to print him airplane, ultraman, cruise ship, bus, disneyland, train and others. He has not stopped asking since. Emily will follow his request. You can find most of the pictures the child wants. Try it.
I have yet to find a nice picture of London Bridge (aka London Tower Bridge), let me know if you can find it.

Anniversary Dinner
July 3, 2007I took my children to our 7th wedding anniversary dinner. My hubby and I thought of having a quiet and romantic dinner together. We went to the Victoria Station in Penang. However the children were pretty noisy. I mean they talk non stop in aloud voice, I had to silence them a couple of times. Fortunately there was another family who was there who also had 2 children. If there were couples around, we will be embarrass
Imagine if there were couples there having their romantic dinner, you hear “Mummy I want the train to move”, “Mummy why aren’t the train moving”, “Mummy where is the train going?”, “Mummy, what is this?” Fortunately the banana split came in time to keep them quiet done for a little while.
I had my favorite escargots, the little French snails. Timothy likes it too.
Timothy: Where is the snail head?
Mummy: In your tummy.
Timothy: *disbelieve* No mummy, where is the snail head?
Mummy: You ate the head.
Timothy: *just cannot accept it* No mummy, you ate the head. The food was alright but the environment is certainly romantic. After the meal, I took my children to the train head and they wanted to move the train. They were not very successful with it. :giggles:

Wool/Copper Anniversary
July 1, 2007Today is my wedding anniversary. Wow time passed really fast as I am reaching wool/copper anniversary. Ha! In no time my hubby and I will be reaching diamond, if we can survive that long. It has been great to have married for so long.
It was a very hectic weekend for us, so we decided to have a quiet dinner on Monday. I hope it will be quiet as we will be bringing along the children. We always make it a point to have them around with major celebrations. I hope they remember this so that when we are old, they will have us in their major celebrations too. Yes, it is a BIG hint to them. :giggles:
Happy 7th Anniversary To Us!!!
