Mummy Little Helper
January 9, 2006Having a girl definitely gives very good advantages. Wanna know why? See for yourself. As she was doing it, I grabbed the camera and captured it all on video.

Emily is just so amazing, :good: she snatched my broom & dust pan and insisted she wants to help. Now I can fold my hands and shake legs while she helps me with housework.. I am so proud of her. Only 1.5 yrs, already know how to do housework. Anyone can beat that? Who needs a maid?

Cheeky Emily
January 5, 2006I was teaching Emily to call mummy but failed. She still refuses to call mummy. She can call mama but that also not so frequent. She can call almost everyone (papa, korkor, cheche, porpor, koongkoong, yeahyeah, mama, yiyi) except mummy.
Mummy: Call Mummy Mummy Mummy.
Emily: *ignore mummy & do her own things*
Mummy: Call Papa
Emily: Papaaaaaa *with a loud voice*
Mummy: Call Mummy *point to nose*
Emily: Noseeeee *show her cheeky face with her pucker lips*
Mummy: *geram, bite her fat thigh*
Emily: *giggles*

Bukit Merah Lake Town
January 2, 2006I brought my family to Bukit Merah Lake Town Resort for new year. It is about 45 minutes drive from Penang. It has a big Water Theme Park, not as big as Sunway Water Park. I know my children will love it because they love water. Beside Water Park and the chair lift, there is nothing else special. There is an island where they house some orang hutan. We have to take a boat ride across. By the way, it is not cheap. They have a combo ticket, which covers everything, cost RM39 per adult, and children (over 90cm) cost RM29. Emily didn’t have to pay, haven’t reach the height yet and she cannot ride the chair lift too.
More info here: http://www.bukitmerahresort.com.my/
Worst experience is the Lake Town Service Apartment that we booked. There were no electricity on New Year’s Eve, we have to tolerate 2 hours of no air condition or no air. We had to tolerate the noisy children shouting at the corridor. Worst is there was a big puddle of water outside our unit.
So much for the bad experience, we enjoyed the water theme park and I don’t mind going again. If you just want to pay for the water theme park, it is RM20 per adult and RM10 for children.
Warning: Photos below are taken with a camera casing. Do not use your normal camera for photo shooting, it will get wet. A camera casing looks like this. If you have a Canon A80, I can loan you the casing. I bought this for my hubby for his birthday a few years back.

Second spot wave pool:
Oh no! More water.

End of Water Park!!! Emily touches the big huge iguana.
There is a big arcade where children can have fun.
Emily sat on a big truck.
With RM1, I tried my skills on picking a soft toy from one of the machine. I succeeded in getting a black penguin. Emily loves it so much. However Tim wanted one too. I wasted another RM20 for not getting anything. Some machines cheated me. 😥 You see, I manage to pick the toy and as it lifted it up, the claw open and the toy drop. It happened a few times. I had to buy something for Tim.
We took a stroll around the jetty. Emily was disappointed that one of the spot closes which she wanted to go it.
Next morning, we had a boat ride across the island to visit the orang hutan. Nothing much to shout about because it is a very small place. You can finish seeing the entire place in 5 minutes or less. The concept is very unique, the orang hutan is out in the open but the visitors, which is we is in the cage looking out to them. Anyway, the children enjoyed the boat ride but refused to put on the life jackets. My son said, “Eeeeik, so dirty, don’t want!”

The Spread
December 10, 2005I didn’t know that food-poisoning can spread or contagious, until recently. The food poisoning germs that was manifested can pass from one person to another through dirty hands, saliva shared utensils or the vomit of a person.
Last Sunday (11 Dec): Hubby ate Kuew Teow Th’ng. He was feeling uneasy and vomited a few times. He went to see the doc because he looked really bad. Doc told him he got a mild gastric and gave him MC to rest the next day.
My son had a mild case, he lost his appetite, didn’t want his dinner. I gave him some ice cream so that at least his stomach has something to digest. He happily ate it all up. He also had some pizza bread. He also vomited once at night. However next morning he was fine.
Monday: Hubby slowly recovering but a little week. He lost his appetite and he only had plain porridge.
Tuesday: Emily’s babysitter told me that my gal threw up twice. As for me, after I had KFC for dinner, I had bad ingestion and heart burn. I took some anti-acid. While Emily was playing in the room, she suddenly told mummy “pain pain” and she threw up again on the mattress. I had to clean her and the change all the mattress sheets. Fortunately I have a spare mattress. Later, I took both of them down to watch some cartoon before sleep so that I can have a bit of rest. Again, Emily threw the second time on the sofa. 😥 I had to clean the sofa and I was unwell. Clean all up and send them all to bed.
Wednesday: I had fever the next day. I took Emily to the paed and myself to the doctor. The paed asked me “Your husband medicine didn’t work on you?” since I told her I was having food poisoning. I never thought of taking my hubby’s medicine. :sc: Anyway, I got MC from my doctor, not the paed.
Friday: I saw my babysitter and she was really pale. She told me that she vomited and is having fever. She got it. I told her on Wednesday, the paed said to be careful as the food poisoning germs in Emily can spread since she has children of her own.
Lets hope the germs will stop spreading. :hand:

Wrong Pyjamas
November 10, 2005Mummy was in the room playing with Emily and Timmy. It was almost reaching bed time. The cupboard nearest to mummy was Timmy’s cupboard. I was too lazy to walk across the room to Emily’s cupboard. I took 2 sets of Timmy’s pyjamas out. 1 set was really old and Timmy outgrew it. I help Timmy to change to his pyjamas. He is now a big boy, can put on his own pants.
Next was Emily’s turn. I put on the top and she was pulling it away. She didn’t want to wear it. Later she called out “kor kor” meaning, this one belongs to kor kor. Anyway I told her it is fine, kor kor give it to you. Later I put on the pants for her. Later she felt so uneasy and uncomfortable. She keep insisting to me that I undress her, keep lifting the top up and I can see her belly button.
Anyway, mummy undressed her and walk across the room to get her pyjamas. After she wore hers, she was happy. What a 17 months old little gal? Mummy just discovered her new character.
By the way, she can speak a few words now, especially Chinese.
Almost the same syllable sound:
Pa Pa – Daddy
Por Por – Grandmother (Babysitter MIL)
Pow Pow – Please carry me
Pau Pau – Tummy filled
Pu Yau – Don’t want
Ball Ball – Ball
Bear Bear – Bear
Bye Bye – GoodbyeMum Mum – Food
Mm Mm – Poo Poo
Kor Kor – Brother
Che Che – Sister (Babysitter daughter)
Ko Ko – Grandfather (Babysitter FIL)
Star
Aiyoo – No meaning
Oh Oh – No meaningI am still waiting for her to call me MUMMY!

Swimming Pool
October 31, 2005I traded 37 scoops for a swimming pool. The pool arrived last Saturday and boy my children had fun with it. Hey our very own swimming pool in our own garden, cool eh? You cannot do much swimming but my children likes to play water very much. The pool wasn’t slippery.
Silly mummy didn’t take out Emily diaper, and look how much water it absorbs. Hehehe, mummy got scolded by daddy. Emily couldn’t stand with the heavy diaper.

Family Portrait
October 28, 2005I wanted to do this for a long time to dig out all the old pictures and put it all together. However my hubby’s album was at my MIL place. When he had taken it back, I was too busy to touch it. Yesterday, I read Jasmine’s blog and I remembered what I wanted to do. I revived the old pictures project.
Tada….
Now tell me, do Tim and Emily look more like daddy or mummy?
For those who have seen me, now you have a different perspective of me right? A lot of my friends said Tim looks like me and Emily looks like dad. Very few say otherwise.
By the way, that is the only 1 year old photo I have. The rest is above 6 years old. Probably my parents were too poor to take any photos when I was a baby. I only got to see that photo when Emily was born. My aunt kept the picture and as she was clearing her house, she found it. I only got to see what I looked like after Emily was born.

Sweetest Voice
October 26, 2005Yesterday, I recorded my children’s voice. Feel free to use it as your handphone ringtones, remember have to pay royalty. My hubby suggested me to use Emily laughter as my windows startup sound. Every morning, when I boot up my notebook, I can hear her laughter.
Emily’s Laughter:
Emily calling kor kor:
Emily asking for food:
Emily singing with mummy:
Tim singing Jesus Loves Me:

Sense of Direction
October 12, 2005One day, I found out that Emily has a good sense of direction like me. She was at MPH in Gurney Mall, not as big as the one in MidValley of coz, probably 1/3 of the size, maybe smaller. She wondered around on her own. She walked so fast and didn’t realize mummy was behind or she was lost. She just walk and walk, she went pass 6 to7 shelves. She didn’t even look scare, just happily browsing through. I was hiding behind the shelves and overlooking what she is doing. I was caught, she turn around and saw me. She smiled. I asked her where is daddy? She walked back to where she came from without mummy guiding her.
She reminded me of my childhood. My family went to Japan for a vacation. I was only 11+. We went on the tour. At night time, the tour guide took us all to the shopping arena and it was free and easy. I wonder off on my own without my family. The shopping arena was about 10-15 minutes walk from the hotel. I browse around for a while on my own and I thought I had enough, wanted to head back to the hotel. Now this is in Japan, if I get lost, I will not know how to ask for direction as everyone spoke Japanese. I didn’t even remember the hotel name. As I was walking home, I saw my family. They were lost and didn’t know which direction to go. They wanted to take a cab back to the hotel. I told them the hotel is just a short distance away. They argued and say that they have been walk for more than 30 minutes. It is so funny I had to take them back to the hotel.
On the first day of my arrival to Sydney, I went to the city on my own. At that time, my sister was working there, she had to work, no time to take me around. I took a bus to Circular Key where the Opera house is. Actually there is nothing much there except for the Opera house. I walk from there to China Town. Of course, I asked for direction while I was there. By the way, they have really good maps, if you know how to read it. The public transport is pretty good and punctual. At the end of the day, my sister was worried because it was my first day and I haven’t returned home. I took the bus back and my sister was shocked that I actually told her I have seen the famous Opera House. I was only 19 then.
I have tried walking from my school to my home. By the way I studied in BBGS, so sad to see the school is gone. I will blog about that later. Yesterday I just knew some mothers who are from the same school but different generation. My home at that time was in Jalan Raja Laut. I was only Form 1 when I did that with another friend of mine.
I have good sense of direction when I am walking not when I am driving. When you drive, you cannot turn back easily. I am having great difficulty recognizing roads in Penang and worst is most streets are one way. If you make a wrong turn, you have to go around in a big circle. In KL not PJ, I am better because I know the small roads around town. In PJ, it is pretty confusing especially the names of the roads, SS2, SS3, section 17 and they don’t go in order. I always have to refer to the map if I want to find places in PJ.
