    • Anti-Smoking

      November 21, 2005

Today I was in the Honda Service centre cum sales office. There is this nut head salesman smoking in the air condition premises. Smokes fly all over the contain space. There were children waiting in the service centre too. All of us become secondary smokers. I walk into the manager office to relay this problem. He gave me a blank face and didn’t give me a positive response.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t hate smokers. I just hate smokers that make other people become secondary smokers, which are more dangerous. I have come across many cases where smokers secretly smoke in air condition premises like the shopping mall, the car park and in public transport.

The government is promoting the “Tak Nak” campaign but not enforcing the public sector to follow strict rules about not smoking areas.

If you know me, I will surely feedback this to Honda and the government bureau. Anyone can give me any more ideas where I can bring this complain to? Please leave the contact and email address.

    • Parking – Avoid This Style

      November 11, 2005

One morning at my company’s car park, my colleague capture something in his camera phone. Two cars parked kissing one another. Obviously the driver didn’t know that it has bang into someone’s car and left it there.

    • Mybabybay Recovered With TLC

      September 28, 2005

Many of you know that Mybabybay.com was down on whole of Monday, due to over exceeding of bandwidth. It was partly my fault as I was not paying attention to warning emails triggered. Anyway, I have extended the bandwidth now and it is back on.

I pay for Mybabybay.com and it is not free. It is a good thing that it is down because it shows the popularity of this site. How this works, you may ask. As you access Mybabybay.com, my server uploads files to your browser. The amount of files in bytes traveling to your PC is called bandwidth. There is a limit to the bandwidth in my server. The more you access, the more bandwidth it takes. That is how it works.

The reason I started Mybabybay.com is to help mothers, to get mothers together to share so that other new mothers can enjoy their experience. I want mothers to be connected so that they can learn from one another. Laugh together and share worries together. I love gatherings with mothers and their children too. I met so many mothers when I started this. The friendship just carried on. Of course, we will not forget the daddies too. I love to teach and help other non-IT literate mothers to blog too, to write a diary of themselves and their children. Sometimes, I feel that mothers can share their feelings through blogging or let out their depression by writing. Sorry that I am not the Guru, but I am learning myself when I teach.

Secondary reason was that I want to keep up with the new Internet technology out there. Being in the IT line, I have to keep up to speed with technology. I learn about forum, blogs, and lots of other Internet tools like WordPress, Mambo, PhpBB, Gallery and etc…etc. The cost is very minimal, I only pay RM120 per year for the domain, server hosting, storage and bandwidth. The value I got from it is priceless.

For mothers and daddies out there who want to join us in mybabybay.com forum, please register yourself at http://mybabybay.com/forum . It is free.

    • Seafood Dinner

      September 25, 2005

My family went out for a quiet dinner today at Gurney Mall. My hubby and I could not decide what to eat. It seems that we are always choosing the same old food every time. Anyway we stroll down on all the eating-places outside of Gurney Mall and see what they have. We came across this “Fish & Co”. The waiter outside told us they serve seafood. First thing I asked them, do they have any baby chair. I really don’t like going to restaurant without a baby chair. I want my gal to sit in her baby chair when she is having her dinner, same goes for my boy. He is now big enough for an adult chair. He is tall so he has no problem reaching the table. They did have baby chair.

I didn’t know what to order. The waiter recommended crab (opps, I meant real crab). I guess everyone knows that they will always recommend the most expensive. Like crab will keep us full for the evening. I don’t want to go home and worried about supper. Anyway, I saw the side menu and order the Family Seafood Platter for 2. I also order a kid meal for my boy. My gal has her own porridge and will take some from our order.

      Our dinner came:

      RM: 48.90

Source of the picture was from myBest, member of forum.mypdacafe.com. Sorry we didn’t have a camera to take shots of it.

It looks delicious and it was great!! It has prawns, clams, calamari, rice with raisins and fish with chips. We also had 2 humongous drinks called the Jungle Freeze and Sharkie Freeze. It is a blend of tropical fruit juices in a giant mug.

My children also enjoyed it. My gal was enjoying the fish, rice with raisins, and her porridge. My boy was enjoying his kid’s meal with fish nuggets and of course his passion fruit drink. Both did not make any fuss. My hubby and I did have a great time.

Later we dropped by MPH to get some colouring books for my children. We had an expired voucher worth RM38. Fortunately, MPH still allowed us to use it. By the way MPH was newly renovated. It was close like for a few months. We really missed it.

I love Photoshop as it helps me to edit photos or any images. It can help to do a digital makeup on the photo. It can beautify a picture. It is not hard to learn the basic of this tool but if you want to advance to the next level, do get books. My hubby just got a few books on it, mostly tips & tricks. He is into photography. Hey look at what he did to a photo.

Now you see it, now you don’t. All the slime from the nose is gone.

By the way, the top logo is done using Photoshop too. I just don’t have time to play around else I can create more fun things. Like this one that I did years ago:

    • Ice Cream

      August 1, 2005

Baskin Robbins gave 31% discount on 31st of every other month. Have you ever walk into Baskin Robbins on the 31st? Please don’t. There will be lots of hungry people there. There are people who want to taste every tub of ice-cream there is and cannot make up their mind which to buy. Next person in the queue will be cursing and swearing. There are also people jumping queue. Poor BR staff had to service all these hungry folks.

Anyway, there is a trick to all this. You can walk in anytime to BR and tell them you want to pre-order your ice-cream. No one will be there to disturb you. You can do all the tasting you want and look at every tub ice-cream. You can even take precious time to choose which ice-cream you want without any anger or frustration in the environment. You can tell the staff that you want to pick it up on the 31st. The staff will give you the discount.

By the way, you can walk in on the 30th too, of course in the month where there is 31st, you will also get the 31% discount with the ice-cream. I walk in on the 30th July and got myself a tub of World Class Chocolate and Coconut. No one was there to disturb me. I had some ice-cream for my son to taste too.

Next month (August), national day special, you can walk in on 29, 30 and 31st and also get the 31% discount. If you want to avoid the hungry crowd, pre-order your ice-cream.

I asked my son, which ice-cream he wants, showing one usual brand and BR. He pointed at BR. Wow, children these days, know how to eat branded stuff. He loves ice-cream. My gal loves anything, so she enjoys it too.
