    • It all started when Angry Birds Star Wars came on. My son was interested to find out the story of star wars. He kept asking me some of the characters. After that, we went to Big Bad Wolf Book Sale and picked up quite a few books on Star Wars. They read it and found the story very interesting. My girl liked Darth Vader very much, maybe because of the mask.

So I decided to search for the DVD so our family can watch it together. However, none of the video store sells the series in DVD. I went to search the internet and eBay but shipping charges were quite expensive.

Finally after some months, I found a seller in eBay selling the trilogy series with a good price inclusive of shipment. I ordered it. Last few days we sat and watched through it. I believed when I watch Star Wars, I was 7 years old. The stuff that I remember is R2D2, light saber, Darth Vader and Harrison Ford. My children like to watch it very much. It sure brings back memories. Now I am still looking for the Prequel Trilogy.

Next old movie that I would want to watch with my children, maybe Indiana Jones.

    • Petrosains Disappointment

      January 9, 2013

Due to school holidays, Petrosains was flooded with visitors. If I knew I could book through calling in, I would have done it. It was really a horrible experience. I brought my children there at 12 noon but I was only able to get 3:30pm tickets!!

The Q to get into the ride takes an hour! One family told me that he was there like 10 am but only give 2:30pm tickets. He also told me those came after him was able to get 2pm tickets. I did asked the counter but they told me it was for those who have membership or pre-book tickets. If they can fit people in at 2pm, why can’t they give me 2:30pm tickets? When I got the tickets, the cashier told me that it was full, yeah right?!

By the way, the cashier also discouraged us from getting the tickets, she told me that by the time I get in, it is time to close. She asked me to come another day! I just shook my head. If they were more efficient, they probably can get people in. The Q to the ride took more than 1 hour??!!

At 3:30pm, they told us that if you do not want to Q for the ride, we can go in using the lift. Well if the ticket counter staff told us that, we would just done that. After all, we just want to get in and play!

Lastly at 4:50pm, my girl wanted to go for the slide. The staff told us it has just closed and pointed at the closing time which is 5pm. I show him my watch. He showed me his time which is 4:55pm, 5 minutes faster. I told him that it is still not 5pm! He gave me the excuse that they followed the clock upstairs. I asked him to call his supervisor. He went up to talk to another staff and later willing to let my girl do the ride.

I think this will be my last visit there! Poor management and worst of all most of the things in there are spoilt and poorly maintained!

    • I-City Expedition

      January 7, 2013

i-City located in Shah Alam, about 30 minutes drive from town. I heard so much about it and wanted to go many times but failed to do so. Finally I took the kids there. I expected a mall to be there but no shopping places. There were also not many food places to dine, only KFC and old Town White Coffee.

The main attractions were the lights and Snowland. My kids love the Snowland but we were not prepared. If you are going to Snowland, make sure you have long pants, shoes that cover the feet and a face mask. I lost count of how many air conditional blowers in there, the cold air just make your face freeze!

They were in short pants and slippers, see how prepared we were. I had to loan boots for RM10 each. Winter jackets were given free. The slides in there were pretty cool. One lady slide down and lost her shoes in the pile of snow. She was jumping up and down because it is not fun to step on ice. The staff managed to dig out her shoes for her.

After Snowland, the weather turned bad and started to rain. We sat there waiting for the rain to stop. While waiting, we played Temple Run on the iPhone. Finally the rain stop, we headed to the tree of lights were and sat the cable train around the park. It was really pretty!

Sad to say, the rain came again. Finally we gave up and headed home. Maybe next time we will bring daddy along.

      Enjoy the pictures…

    • Tim Baptism

      December 30, 2012

Tim asked for water baptism as he wanted to obey the Lord’s command. Believed and be baptized. He has believed in the Lord Jesus for a long time and he told us that he is ready to take the next step of obedience.

Today mark the day of his water baptism. Great day to remember! Praise the Lord for accepting him into His Kingdom.

      Titus 3:3-8

”At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another. But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life. This is a trustworthy saying. And I want you to stress these things, so that those who have trusted in God may be careful to devote themselves to doing what is good. These things are excellent and profitable for everyone.”

I’m a real nerd. Complete with the black-rimmed glasses and all. But underneath all that, I’m highly packed with knowledge. For me, that’s kind of a fashion. I may not talk much, but you’d wish that my mind would stop thinking so loudly. I hunger for knowledge and my mind is always swarming with ideas, some of them can be considered insane…

    • Krabi HairDo

      December 11, 2012

My girl wanted to braid her hair and I told her that she can do it in Thailand. She was really excited. We went to Phuket and Krabi, both places have these special hair do. She missed the one in Phuket because she was tired after a long shopping day. However, I managed to find one shop that does it in Krabi.

At first the shop lady wanted to charge me 750 baht but I managed to bring it down to 500 baht. However it is still very expensive. Well since it is a hot day and the shop was air condition, I accepted the offer. It took an hour for the whole process.

By the way, with these tourist places, definitely things will not be cheap! At least Emily got many people to admire her hairdo!

    • Banking Day

      November 26, 2012

      Date: Oct 25, 2012

Emily wanted to see how coins are counted in the bank. She pestered me for a long time to bring her to deposit all her money in the piggy bank. I was procrastinating but finally I did.

At first, the teller told me that I need to separate the coins first. She was reluctant to help me. After a few questions, she called her manager. Her manager asked another staff to help. The first teller told me that the machine cannot separate the coins. Actually it can but a very tedious process. Anyhow, she got all the coins counted.

Both my kids had a good banking experience. It is good to teach our kids how to save money from a young age.

    • My girl took the final exam but the teachers didn’t reveal her marks or send me the report card. She got some of her papers back but not the Maths & Science. Now how do I gauge how she is doing in school The KSSR System seems to be very ambiguous. Up till now, I still do not understand the system and assessment.

My girl told me that the teachers only show some of the students the subject marks but not all. For KBSR, at least I know my son’s marks and I can help him to improve on certain subjects or area where he is weak.

I did receive the band report for my girl. Below is part of her report and it is very hard for me to tell which area I should help my child to improve. Band 6 is the highest. The Moral teacher gave her band 4 although my girl did a lot but the BM teacher gave my band 5 for doing not as much as Moral. The band ranking has nothing to do with her exam marks. She did get 100 for Moral, yet only get band 4.

But the report doesn’t mean a thing to me as I cannot tell how to help my child to focus on the weak area. I don’t get her exams paper back. Although I know she did above 95 for most subjects. Looks like I need to do my own assessment. This is the downfall of the KSSR System.

    • Tim’s Comic

      November 8, 2012

Tim loves to draw. Basically he can draw to occupy himself. He creates his own characters, combine it with things he sees or cartoons he watches. Believed me he had draw over thousands of comics over the years. One day I was looking at what he was drawing and I was really pleased with his imagination. Here are some of the pictures.
