    • Anticipation

      December 9, 2007

Everyday my children are asking when Christmas will be here. I guess they are looking forward to see their favorite toys. I taught them how to read the calendar. I have a small calendar for Tim to mark each day. Every evening, he will take a red pen to mark the calendar until 25th December.

I will be looking forward to Christmas too because I am always happy to see them grin from ear to ear when receiving their favorite toys. Children, it takes so little to make them happy.

    • My children’s favorite magazine of the month will be the Christmas Toys catalogue. Yeap, they have already identified the toys that they want for Christmas. I have a very practical family, I asked them what they want and get it for them. You may wonder where the surprise is. The surprise will be anticipation to see whether mummy will get it for them or not.

Now the surprise will be on you if you can guess what Tim and Emily wants? I give you a small Christmas gift if you are the first to guess exactly what both of them wanted. The answers must be both accurate to get the gift. I will reveal the answers during Christmas.

You know Tim’s gift was selling like hot cakes. First I saw it in Jusco, it was a member day sale with 50% discount. I could have gift right away. However I was not sure whether Tim will like it. I brought Tim the next couple of days and he loved the gift.

After thinking and I was really afraid that all the sets will be sold out, I went back to Jusco a couple of days later. True enough it was the last set left. However it was not on 50% discount anymore, bumma. As for Emily’s choice, a blogger has bought this for his or her gal.

    • Talking about the brave gal reminded me something about Tim. Sometimes children are in the world of their own and do not understand a lot of things. We often have to remind them of manners, hygiene, discipline and all.

One Sunday, at the end of the Sunday School class, sometimes the teachers will give out goodies like sweets, candy, or vitagen to the younger children. Emily’s class got lollipops. Tim saw Emily having the lollipop, he came and asked me for one. I didn’t have any but I was busy talking to another father who was holding a lollipop for her gal. Tim came by and took the lollipop from his hand. It happened so very fast that the father didn’t know what to do next.

Fortunately I was there and return back the lollipop. I reminded Tim, he cannot take other people’s things without permission. He wanted the lollipop so much that his brain forgot about manners. Later I asked him to go Emily’s teacher and asked nicely if there is any lollipop left.

Children are always children, they need to be taught and we have to be patient with them.

    • A Brave Gal

      November 26, 2007

Last Friday, I was shopping alone with Emily. As usual, she will be on the stroller looking at things around. A clown gal shouted for on an upper floor asking her to go up. I couldn’t understand her as she was speaking mandarin but Emily asked me to go up. I did. She got a free round balloon and a twisted sword balloon.

I took her to the Jusco sale. It was so crowded and people are just buying stuff like it was free. Trolleys were filled everywhere. Halfway through shopping, Emily felt a sleep despite the noise. I tied her balloon to the stroller and she was hugging her sword balloon.

As I was queuing to pay for my groceries, a little gal saw the nice blue round balloon on my stroller. She is about 3 years old I guess. She came by my stroller, trying to get the balloon. I stood there looking at her but didn’t do anything. She was pulling and pulling. I wanted to give her the balloon but it was Emily, need to ask her permission first right. I don’t think Emily will give her balloon away. Anyway, the little gal was trying so hard to get the balloon. The mother came and pulled her away. She didn’t cry but later she tried again. I gave her a smile but she gave me a frown. Later her mother took her away. She is one brave gal.

    • School Holidays Schedule

      November 21, 2007

School Holidays started on last Monday. I am at the stage of tracking when the school holidays are because Tim is attending Tadika (Kindy) which follows the normal school holidays schedule. Previously I have no clue when the dates of the school holidays are.

I need to get use to it too because I have to include his school holidays schedule into yearly vacation plan, occasional fun trip and my business travel. This means I cannot take the family to go whatever and whenever I liked. I don’t want Tim to miss school for the wrong reason. I guess next year it is still alright because he is still in Tadika. I guess one more year for me to work it out.

Another down side for me, whenever school holidays, any vacation package will be expensive as it is peek period for all. Sigh.

Anyway here is the 2008 school holiday schedule:

      Saturday 8 March – Sunday 16 March 2008
      Saturday 24 May – Sunday 6 June 2008
      Saturday 16 August – Sunday 24 August 2008
      Saturday 15 November 2007 – Sunday 4 January 2008

    • Bee Movie

      November 8, 2007

My children wanted to watch Bee Movie. They saw it advertised when we watched Ratatouille. It opened yesterday and since today was a holiday, I decided to bring them there.

On the whole, it was great with a good story plot. It started with the story of how bee makes honey in the hive and what do bees do in their life cycle. Barry the main character graduated from University to start his new job in the honey factory. However he was not happy as the rule says whatever position he choose, he will do it for life. He wanted to venture out into the real world, which he did. Lots of exciting thing happen to him and he made the world turn upside down.

I guess the story plot was a little too deep for my children to grasp. However they enjoyed the animated characters. Emily loves Adam, Barry’s good friend. Timothy like the mosquito called Mooseblood. There is one little error as Mooseblood is a male mosquito and male mosquito does not suck blood.

Go watch it, it is another good animated story for children. It is written by Jerry Seinfeld.

    • Disney Magic Show

      November 5, 2007

We rushed to PISA for the Disney Magic Show after Tim’s concert. When I bought the tickets, Tim’s concert schedule was not out. It was really a coincident that both were happened on the same day with 2 hours apart.

The Disney Magic Show was great with Disney characters like Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Alice, Belle, Snow White, Cinderella, Jasmine, Ariel, Eric, Gus and Jaq. There were 2 other magicians called Brad and Benny. It is a stage performance with singing, dancing and interaction with the audience. My children just love it. They went home telling me the details of what they seen.

As usual there were a lot of Disney merchandize for sale. I got my 2 children a wizard hat, hey it was the cheapest of them all. It came with a big bag of cotton candy. My hubby didn’t allowed them to eat too much of it. Mummy had to wallop it all. One more bag to go and I hope my sugar level will not hit the roof.

They don’t allow us to take pictures and were pretty strict. The ushers were looking around. We took a few shots of it before we were told not to.

    • Cool Performance

      November 5, 2007

Saturday was a busy day for me. First we started the day early at 7:30am and help Timothy look smart. He was giving a performance at his school concert. I guess every parent is excited about her child’s concert. By the number of cameras pointing at the stage, you will know. Parents were anxious about taking every shot of their child.

As for Timothy, as usual he needed time to warm up. He took the stage away in another sense because he was so cool standing there without moving. I bet everyone is looking at him. Later when he got warm up, he started giving a very cool performance. I am so proud of him.

    • Gift Of Observant

      October 25, 2007

Actually this is a backdated post on Timothy but I would want to remember it. The tadika principal commented that Timothy is very observant and he has the ability to notice who is around. I must say this is a special gift that Timothy has. How often do you find boys or men being observant?

One example the principal say is when she goes into a class and if she looks at Timothy from far, Timothy will notice. Like six sense. Other children will not be aware of her presence but Timothy does. She told me that often, she will not look at Timothy because he will spot her easily.

From my point of view, Timothy is very caution about his surrounding. I am not sure whether it is good or bad. Yesterday I took a nap after work. At about 8pm, I woke up and went downstairs. Timothy asked me why am I in my red shirt. Usually at home, I will wear a baggy t-shirt but he spotted that I was in my going out shirt.

By the way, I have good news to share….no I am not pregnant, try again. I told no one but if you can guess it, I will send you something special.

    • Today, it is Emily’s turn to take up the laundry again. She was going upstairs while I was downstairs.

Emily: Mummy where is the basket?
Mummy: It is in the ironing room.
      Emily: I cannot find it.
      Mummy: Try the other rooms.
Emily: It is in papa bedroom. Why did you say in the ironing room?
      Mummy: Sorry, mummy forgot.

She came down and hunted me down.

Emily: The basket is not in the ironing room mah.
      Mummy: Sorry, sorry.
Emily: It is in papa room.
      Mummy: Sorry, sorry
Emily: Why you say in the ironing room.
Mummy: Sorry ah, next time I say in papa’s room. 😛

Sigh, mummy got shot at for not remembering where the laundry basket is. I can never win when they are right. Don’t even try it. :giggles:
