    • Naughty Moments

      February 28, 2006

Sorry I painted 2 goodie-2-shoe children. Actually both have their naughty moments that drive me crazy.

      Moment #1

I bought both of them a book that look like a phone that rings. Wow, now they have their own handphone. One is blue and the other is orange. Emily likes the blue one. When Tim is playing with the blue, Emily will cry for it. Fight starts, no punching or anything but noise fights.

      Moment #2

Both given a bottle of Yakult to drink. Tim will take his own sweet time to sip. Emily will sip it all in 1 breath. She will eye on kor kor’s bottle and will want to grab it. Tim will protect it by screaming. Noise fights again.

      Moment #3

I have 2 potty, one red and one orange. Both will attack the same color potty. I don’t know why, I guess fighting is part of their growing up.

      Moment #4

Mummy sat down on the floor to watch TV quietly. Along came Emily, sit on mummy’s lap. Tim will come and squeezed his butt into mummy. End up, both will be on top of mummy.

      Moment #5

Tim dislikes doing his homework. Actually he is still too young to understand what homework is. One time, he has such a strong will, no matter how I bribe him with chocolates, sweets, jelly, all his favorites, yet refuse to do. He just stared at his book and refused to pick up the pencil. However when he is in a good mood, he will just do.

      Moment #6

Both want to go downstairs. Both ask daddy to give them a piggy back ride, we called it “horsy”. Both cry at once, wanting daddy to carry them both at the same time. Daddy created “double horsy” that is carry 2 (>28kg) on his back.

And the fights go on….. Fortunately I have 1 boy & 1 girl. Sorry twinsmom, next time if yours fight for the same boyfriend, not sure what you can do.

    • Bedtime Story

      February 10, 2006

Every evening before bed time, I will spend a quiet moment to read to my children. Although half of the time, they will not be listening but you will be surprise that they do learn from the story reading. Emily will try to flip the pages and Tim will be lying on the bed. I bought a bible for toddler where they have big pictures and a few lines for the story.

One story that I read to them goes like this:

      The Tower of Babel

One day some me made a tall tower. It would make them look important. These men were very proud. But God did not like this.

For them to listen, I acted the story out. God was angry. Show them angry face. Why God angry I asked. I said, because people don’t listen to him. Show them angry face. I ask them “how angry?”. They show me their angry face. Why angry? Because people don’t listen to God. Pointing to the ear.

Now, whenever they don’t keep their toys, I said mummy is angry, I will show my angry face. Emily will try to follow by putting her both hands on the body and show her cute face. Tim will say, ” mummy angry”. Later they understand and keep their toys. Sometimes Tim says “Scare, Scare, mummy angry”.

Children can learn very fast at this age. My hubby has successfully thought Timothy how to pray at night. He can say a few lines and end with Amen. He can also sing, “Yes Jesus Loves Me” and “God is so good”.

Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

      Prov 22:6.

    • Shopping With Tim

      January 3, 2006

Yesterday, my babysitter took care of Emily because today she had to send her son to school. Now I am working from home with Emily. I took the opportunity to take my son shopping yesterday. He had fun. He is very good boy when mummy take him out. Where is daddy? Daddy wanted to stay at home to rest, clean up some cupboard of his and wanted some peace.

Anyway I drove to Gurney Plaza. As you know, it will be fairly hard to get any parking, as it is a replacement public holiday. I was fortunate as I saw a family coming out and looking for their car. I tailgate them and finally got to park. The shopping mall is not as jam pack as Mid Valley in KL. There were still lots of space to move. I haven’t been shopping for clothes for a long long time, so I decided to get some CNY clothes for myself. Usually when we go out shopping, I always head for the children department. There was 1 shop giving out 50% discount on some nice clothes. Of coz, it is jam pack inside. Oh I had my son on a stroller, even pushed it to the changing room so that I can try out the clothes. I was pretty happy with what I got.

I saw a couple with his family buying a new stroller for a newborn baby. As they were going out, probably their first time handling a stroller, they didn’t know how to push it up the escalator. I heard them from a far saying, “Let’s see how this mom pushed it up.” They were all looking at me. I pretend not to know but inside, I was giggling. Pushing it up is not difficult but pushing it down the escalator required more skills.

It was fun to shop with my son. We started at 1pm and went home at 4pm. As I was leaving, there were so many cars coming into the car park. It was also pouring outside. There were few roads flooded with water. A tip on driving, if you see a huge jam ahead, always look for a taxi, the taxi will know how to go through small roads to avoid jam, which I did.

One turning I made, I saw cars stopping by the side because they didn’t want to attempt to cross the flooded road. I even saw a Wira broke down in the middle. Anyway, there were some cars that attempted and got through, so I follow behind. Later I saw a lorry fume up with black smoke. His lorry broke down. I got through. I was praying as I went through it. Got home safe and sound. By the time we reached home, my son was napping.

    • Bukit Merah Lake Town

      January 2, 2006

I brought my family to Bukit Merah Lake Town Resort for new year. It is about 45 minutes drive from Penang. It has a big Water Theme Park, not as big as Sunway Water Park. I know my children will love it because they love water. Beside Water Park and the chair lift, there is nothing else special. There is an island where they house some orang hutan. We have to take a boat ride across. By the way, it is not cheap. They have a combo ticket, which covers everything, cost RM39 per adult, and children (over 90cm) cost RM29. Emily didn’t have to pay, haven’t reach the height yet and she cannot ride the chair lift too.

      More info here: http://www.bukitmerahresort.com.my/

Worst experience is the Lake Town Service Apartment that we booked. There were no electricity on New Year’s Eve, we have to tolerate 2 hours of no air condition or no air. We had to tolerate the noisy children shouting at the corridor. Worst is there was a big puddle of water outside our unit.

So much for the bad experience, we enjoyed the water theme park and I don’t mind going again. If you just want to pay for the water theme park, it is RM20 per adult and RM10 for children.

Warning: Photos below are taken with a camera casing. Do not use your normal camera for photo shooting, it will get wet. A camera casing looks like this. If you have a Canon A80, I can loan you the casing. I bought this for my hubby for his birthday a few years back.

      First spot water playground:

      Second spot wave pool:

      Oh no! More water.

      Third spot water pool:

      Fourth spot balloon slide pool:

Firth spot river and water slides:

      End of Water Park!!!

Emily touches the big huge iguana.

There is a big arcade where children can have fun.

Emily sat on a big truck.

With RM1, I tried my skills on picking a soft toy from one of the machine. I succeeded in getting a black penguin. Emily loves it so much. However Tim wanted one too. I wasted another RM20 for not getting anything. Some machines cheated me. 😥 You see, I manage to pick the toy and as it lifted it up, the claw open and the toy drop. It happened a few times. I had to buy something for Tim.

We took a stroll around the jetty. Emily was disappointed that one of the spot closes which she wanted to go it.

Next morning, we had a boat ride across the island to visit the orang hutan. Nothing much to shout about because it is a very small place. You can finish seeing the entire place in 5 minutes or less. The concept is very unique, the orang hutan is out in the open but the visitors, which is we is in the cage looking out to them. Anyway, the children enjoyed the boat ride but refused to put on the life jackets. My son said, “Eeeeik, so dirty, don’t want!”

      December 11, 2005

Time: Sat 10 Dec. 2030 hours.
Mission: Get son to keep toys.
      Place: Home.
      Weapons: Cane & Patience.
      Opponent’s Weapons: Cry & Stubbornness.
Situation: Toys everywhere in the room.
      Period: 60 minutes.

      Report:

My son refused to keep his toys after playing. Mummy got frustrated and send warning signal to him. He didn’t budge. He stood near the door wanting to go downstairs to watch Mickey Mouse cartoon before going to bed and chanting “He Want! He Want! He Want!. Mummy took the cane and whack only once. It made the situation worst, he cried even louder. No sign of moving his hands to the toys. I know the cane didn’t help, threw it away, else next morning you see my picture in the headlines under child abuse section.

Next move, mummy dimmed the lights and pretend to sleep. He still stood at the door crying. Mummy sent out another signal “You keep toys first and you can go watch Mickey Mouse.” He still didn’t move. It went on for more than 45 minutes. He cried so much, till Emily go to him and sayang him. Emily helped him to keep a few toys.

Last move, mummy switch off all the lights. He cried louder and he stopped. I heard toys going into the basket. He kept all his toys in the dark. I took him downstairs to watch his cartoon and he went to bed with a happy smile.

      PEACE.

    • Swimming Pool

      October 31, 2005

I traded 37 scoops for a swimming pool. The pool arrived last Saturday and boy my children had fun with it. Hey our very own swimming pool in our own garden, cool eh? You cannot do much swimming but my children likes to play water very much. The pool wasn’t slippery.

Silly mummy didn’t take out Emily diaper, and look how much water it absorbs. Hehehe, mummy got scolded by daddy. Emily couldn’t stand with the heavy diaper.

      October 28, 2005

I wanted to do this for a long time to dig out all the old pictures and put it all together. However my hubby’s album was at my MIL place. When he had taken it back, I was too busy to touch it. Yesterday, I read Jasmine’s blog and I remembered what I wanted to do. I revived the old pictures project.

      Tada….

Now tell me, do Tim and Emily look more like daddy or mummy?

For those who have seen me, now you have a different perspective of me right? A lot of my friends said Tim looks like me and Emily looks like dad. Very few say otherwise.

By the way, that is the only 1 year old photo I have. The rest is above 6 years old. Probably my parents were too poor to take any photos when I was a baby. I only got to see that photo when Emily was born. My aunt kept the picture and as she was clearing her house, she found it. I only got to see what I looked like after Emily was born.

    • Sweetest Voice

      October 26, 2005

Yesterday, I recorded my children’s voice. Feel free to use it as your handphone ringtones, remember have to pay royalty. My hubby suggested me to use Emily laughter as my windows startup sound. Every morning, when I boot up my notebook, I can hear her laughter.

      Emily’s Laughter:

      Emily calling kor kor:

      Emily asking for food:

      Emily singing with mummy:

      Tim singing Jesus Loves Me:
