God has given me 2 blessed children, go see for yourself. They mopped the floor glittering clean. Let’s hope they continue to like what they are doing.

Emily: Mummy don’t step on the floor, after fall down “kok tor tow” (knock the head)
      Tim: Mummy see dry already
Tim: Mummy, don’t step here, after fall down, knock the head.

    • Raising The Second Child

      November 29, 2006

I found that raising the second child is always the easiest than the first one. For those who have 1, faster sign up for the piggy’s club. You still have time.

Anyway, here is what I found.

Speech – Emily picked up speech faster than Tim. As she always converse with Tim. She also picked up the fierceness from me. She makes me look at myself and reduce my fierceness, which is a good thing. Once she picked up her Minnie Mouse Toy.

Emily: Don’t cry ah. No chocolate for you.
Emily: Don’t cry ah. I will beat you. 😯

Dancing – As you know Tim did the dancing for the concert. He did a couple of rehearsals at home, showing Emily how to do it. Once Tim sang the song and Emily did the dance. It was a great sight to watch them do things together.

Singing – Both likes to sing a lot. They learn songs from Sunday school and their nursery. Emily knows how to count and her alphabets too.

Competition – Last time Tim was having trouble with his meal or milk drinking. It took forever for him to finish his meal. Now with Emily, they will try to out beat each other to finish their milk or meals.

Potty Trained – Emily does whatever Tim does, so potty training is easy. Of coz, not stand and pee. Both sit on the potty to do their business and pee. Emily is diaperless during the daytime, a few months ago.

Of coz there are the bad when you have 2.

Fights – No one can escape from this. I just have to learn how to deal with it. Usually I will just let them fight, cry and stop. You do not need to stress yourselves, shouting at them, it does not work. They will fight even more. Focus on the child that will be distracted easily and solve the fight. Not easy but it can be done.

Selections – Each have their own selections. It is better not ask what they want, else it will end up with fights. Example, if you ask them what cartoon they want to watch, you are just asking for trouble. Mummy chooses and they watch it.

Oh well, if you are having a tough time raising 1, don’t despair. It is definitely easier with the second one. A lots of things, you will just close 1 eye.

    • Tim the Teacher

      November 14, 2006

Emily: Mummy what is this? Pointing at a pic that looks something like this.

Mummy: Lightning. Are you scared of lightning? It makes a “keboom” loud sound.

      Emily: Scare…Scare.

Tim: Lightning does not make any sound, only thunder.

Mummy: That’s correct Tim. Thunder makes a loud sound.

It must be the DHA in his milk. I probably needs to take some of his milk, else how to keep up with him.

    • Adorable Belle

      November 8, 2006

I met up with Belle, Vien and family, DomesticGoddess and family. We had a fantastic time talking about blogging, food, labor stories and our jobs. I bought Tim along as I cannot handle 2 children and my hubby is not a gathering type person. I am sure Emily had good quality time with her daddy yesterday.

Belle was as adorable as ever. She kept chasing my shy Timothy around. She wanted Tim to hold her hands. Below are shots of them.

It was a great meet-up and another cyber friendship blooming.

Yesterday, I went shopping with my family. At the check out counter, Emily saw something interesting and wanted to buy. I suppose she didn’t know what it was but it did attract her. Anyway, since it was cheap and she has been a good gal, I got it for her.

Emily: Mummy, pls open for me.
Mummy: Wait, when you get in the car, I will open for you.
      Emily: In the car ah?
      Mummy: Yes.

Tim was anxious too, as there were 3 of it. He will anticipate that his sister will give him one.

Mummy: Come, let me open for you. Give kor kor one, ok?
Emily: Nah, kor kor you take this one.
Emily & Tim: *put the eraser in the mouth*
Mummy & Daddy: *burst out laughing* 😆

They thought it was a lollipop. 😆

      Mummy: This cannot eat.
      Emily: Cannot eat one ah?
      Mummy: Cannot. :giggles:

By the way, Emily now is pacifier free.

      October 30, 2006

Timothy likes to draw. Whatever he sees, he draws. Not sure where he develop the love for drawing but he can sit for an hour drawing and drawing. He has been using up my A4 printing paper. I got him a huge roll of paper from Ikea, cost RM15 for him to draw.

When we were at Ikea, he saw the chair testing machinery display. He took a free pencil and paper and drew that. Sigh, I misplaced that paper.

I told my hubby, when he is 5-6 years old, maybe will let him taking proper drawing class. That will be another option to his future career. As for Emily, I haven’t detected her talent yet. I think she probably love music.

We went on train ride, truck ride, merry go round and playground. There were other ship ride, bumper bee, bumper car and bus ride that go up high. For the ship rides, only children allowed, no adult. It was fun for the children. We couldn’t stay long as Emily wasn’t feeling well. 🙁

      Pan Mee

I love a pan mee stall in KL. It is in Chow Kit Lorong Haji Taib 4 Road. That is where I grew up. The flat that I used to stay, now become a Tiong Nam Union (aka Persatuan Penjaja Tiong Nam). It has a lot of “lieu” as in mushroom strips, minced pork and vege. Pan Mee is a self-made flour noodle. It taste better when you add chilli and lime in it. Simply delicious!!!

    • Silent Tears

      October 15, 2006

During our nap time, my son was moving around and not sleeping. Usually he is not like that, he will just go and sleep. I scolded him and he was still doing it. Anyway I was too tired and felt asleep. When I woke up, he didn’t sleep at all. He wanted to go out and play, I told him to get back to bed and sleep.

Later, he made so much noise that Emily woke up. There is no point getting him to sleep now. Both of them were playing. At one point, Emily wanted to take the box of toys, he tried to snatch it away. Both were not letting the toy go. I walked up to Tim and grabbed him by his arms and make him let go of the toys. Emily ran away with the toy. Suddenly Tim silently let out his tears. Tears just flow out like a broken pipe. There wasn’t any sound in his cry. He must be really sad. It was an unusual cry. It cut through my heart to see him cry this way. I grab him and gave him a hug. He stopped and later Emily came to sayang him. Everything went back to normal.

    • Chicken Pox

      October 12, 2006

Oh no, Timothy got chicken pox. He took the jab when he is 1. The paed said he is not responding to the vaccine or he didn’t produce any antibody. The paed also gave him a anti-viral medicine so that he will not get a full blown chicken pox that may take longer to heal. He got it from his school mates. What a timing? My hubby is away and MIL is going on vacation. I have to take care of him until MIL returns. Fortunately I can work from home and take care of him.

The funny thing is I discover the spots yesterday. I thought it was bed bugs’ bites. I change all my bed sheets and clean the room. I burned LB to get rid of any bed bugs. Now I know it is not bed bugs.

Tomorrow I have to coax Emily to go to school without his brother. Emily was asking for the brother in school when I took him to see the doctor. Pray that Emily will not get Chicken Pox and she have immunity.

Last time I did a project to put all my children expression pictures into 1 page. Click here to view.

I have done up another one to show how my children have grown. As I was scanning through their photos by month, it was like yesterday I delivered them. It really brought back lots of good memories. Enjoy the Canon moments:
