    • Fresh Toilet

      February 27, 2011

My girl and I have a problem with dirty toilet. Emily got my gene as she would refuse to enter a smelly and dirty toilet. She rather holds her pee or she will not drink water. When she first enters into primary 1, she would not go to the school toilet. Yeah, the toilet is very smelly. I can smell it a mile away.

However, her brother knowing that she didn’t like it, told her there is a better toilet in the new block. I am glad the school built a new block with better toilet. Tim brought her to new toilet. It is nice to have a brother to take good care of his sister. Kudos to him!

By the way, I am glad now Tim has overcome her anxiety in school. He is able to talk to some teacher and all his friends. He is able to have fun and last I heard, he even go to the book store to get some books. It is great to see his progress in school.

    • Proud Of Her

      February 24, 2011

Last Monday, my girl came back with 2 silver medals. She told me that she won 2 competitions, one for coloring and the other for origami. I didn’t know she was participating in any competitions. I knew she did some origami in school.

Apparently during assembly, she was called to receive the medals. I am so proud of her. I am so glad she has my origami gene. I will passed my origami skills to her one of these days.

    • Angpows

      February 21, 2011

My kids received angpows that come in many shape and sizes, some even have eyes and ears. Somehow this year, they are excited or motivated to collect angpows. They finally understood the money collected can be used for vacation. However, I don’t do that but keeps all their money in their own bank accounts. To date, all their angpows and birthday money gifts go to their bank account.

Emily was very keen on helping to take the money out and count how much she has collected. By the way, those that were given to my hubby and I by our parents will also go to their collection, divide equally within the 2 of them.

I also recycle the new notes so that I don’t have to go to the bank every year to change new notes. Yeap, I already packed for next year Chinese New Year. For both their shares, I transfer money from my account to theirs which is easier.

    • It has been a long time since I had buffet in Shogun. Whenever we go back to KL, I always bring my family to Ikea, Curve, MidValley or 1Utama. We rarely go to Sunway side. I decided to make a trip there. By the way, that is the first mall I date my hubby.

I didn’t know there was Shogun there until I saw the signage. We were there about 5:15pm but dinner only start at 6pm. I decided to make a booking on the spot. It was also on 30% discount, only had to pay RM40++ per adult with oyster, isn’t it a great deal or what? We got a nice spot with a view to Sunway Lagoon too.

      The View Where We Sit

Later after dinner, we took a stroll to the Sunway Resort Hotel. There is a joining walkway from the mall to the hotel, how convenient! I must say the hotel put up a very nice Chinese New Year lighting in the surrounding. My kids want to visit the swimming pool which is underground. Later they were dipping their hands into it. It was a great stroll after dinner. Before we head off to home, I took my kids to visit the bowling alley. They wanted to bowl and I told them, they can bowl if they can carry the ball. The lightest was an 8 pound ball. Tim could carry with 2 hands and Emily could hardly lift it up. Oh well, I guess when they are older, they can learn to bowl.

    • My Little Vain Pot

      February 10, 2011

Upon hearing my cousins who are able to do manicure, my little vain port kept persuading me to ask them to paint her nails. She was showing me her little puppy face. She dare not ask them but secretly whisper to me.

Of coz, my cousins would be delighted to paint her nail and stick those lovely prints for her. She was grinning from ear to ear when everyone praised her pretty nails. However I have to remove it the day before she start school. I kept her toes nails color since it will be covered by her socks.

Do you know those nail prints are selling for RM5 in Daiso? My cousins told me in pasar malam (aka night market), the prints are only selling for RM2.50. I guess I have to get some for her.

    • Emily Little Note

      January 29, 2011

One morning, I woke up and saw this little note on my working desk. I guess she left it for me because the day before I slept early and she could not tell me about it. It is kind of cute reading her notes, hope she writes more.

By the way, my hubby and I do write little notes to each other if we want to pass a message when we are not available. We are getting old and sometimes we cannot remember, so better note it down.

Someone commented that she had perfect spelling in FB. Now here is the little story. The story begun with this picture on the white board, so my hubby told me.
Emily asked daddy, what if she cannot spell certain word. Daddy was also tired that night, she asked her to consult Tim, her big brother.

She had difficulty spelling “could”. She asked her brother. Tim’s funny bone drew 2 pictures on the white board. If you spell “cold”, he drew a man shivering in the fridge. If you spell “could”, he drew a picture of a hand giving something to another. He asked Emily to pick the right one. Ha! Isn’t he an excellent teacher? “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime”

Of coz, I bought her a nice Rapunzel pencil case.

    • Passport Due Reminder

      January 25, 2011

I received this today for my children. I was wondering why Immigration send letter direct to my children. Well, I read it and it was a reminder to state their passports had expired. I guess now they cannot go overseas until I renew it.

By the way, I have another opportunity to travel to US but I am still thinking whether to bring them there. The dates of my travel fall on their exams period. Now I am in a dilemma. Should I or should I not? I wonder can I ask permission from the school to have them sit for it after the vacation. I am sure my children would love that!

    • Hard Rock Surprised

      January 21, 2011

My kids loved to go to Hard Rock swimming pool. I guess with the Stage Pass, they can go there as often as they liked for free. I am making full use of it and take them there whenever there is a holiday. My gal love to go down the slides in the pool, there are 3.

On top of that, the Stage Pass comes with 1 free night stay. I am still having difficulty of choosing a date for that. With the kids in school, I need to pick a school holiday. Most of the time, we will go back to KL during the school holidays.

Anyway, my kids will have a whole year of fun in the Hard Rock Pool. If you are here on vacation with kids, let me know.

    • New Spot

      January 10, 2011

My kids found a new spot that they want me to bring them. It is the gadget store. Now Harvey Norman has a small area where they display the iPads for people to test out. My kids took the opportunity to play the games in it. Not that we don’t own an iPad but my hubby and I will limit the usage. It is break free with unlimited time to play new games there.

I found many new free games to download while I am there too.

Well, not only the kids are having fun but the adults will queue to get their hands on it. Yeap, many will drool over it. If you don’t need one, don’t even go near the display else you will end up buying one.

Look at the display area in Apple store in US, that’s how they attract so many to come and get one. Each table has a lot of display units for you to play with.

    • Eating Habits

      January 7, 2011

My children definitely have weird eating habits. I meant the way they eat and not so much the food they take. Let’s start with my boy…

      Timothy Eating Habit
He still takes milk or Milo before and after sleep. He takes a fair amount of time to eat his meal. He enjoys picking bits by bits from the plate. I am not sure whether he wants to enjoy every bit of the food or what. It certainly drives me crazy especially if I am rushing. Most of the time, he will be the last to finish and the whole wide world will sit at the table waiting for him. Yes, if he eats noodle, he will eat a strand of noodle at a time.

In order for me to speed up his eating process, I have to help him scoop and put it in his mouth. He will give me a frown.

Yesterday, I took my children to economy rice stall. Both of them were given a plate of rice and they scoop their own dish.

Later, I was surprised that Tim was the first to finish his meal. He scooped the rice and dishes together into his mouth. I thought finally change his eating habit. Sad to say, he went back to his old eating habit the next day. Sigh. My hubby told me, he ate fast because he wants to go to school early.

      Emily Eating Habit
She is like the weather. One day she eats fast and sometimes she likes to act up. It is not about the food she is taking. However most of the time, she prefers rice and dishes but unpredictable.

I really hope one day they will eat like normal so that I don’t have to waste time waiting for them to finish.
