    • Look Alike Meter

      September 19, 2007

People kept telling me that Emily looks like my hubby and Tim looks like me. There was a small percentage saying she looks like me. For those who seen me and my hubby, who do you think she looks like?

As I was blog hopping, I saw in HuiSia and Julian post the look alike meter in the blog. In my mind, I can put Tim and Emily to the test and see where their good looks come from. The software does a scan on each picture: mother, father and child. After that, the result will show whether the child has the father or mother looks in percentage.

By now you are all anxious about whom Tim and Emily look like right? I was too. Anyway it is just a face recognition technology and it may not be 100% accurate. Before I show you the result, leave a comment to tell me whether Tim and Emily look like.

      Result: Tim & Emily.

    • Funny Bone

      September 18, 2007

Emily has a funny bone in her and she can be very comical at times. She does actions to make me laugh. Her conversations can be very innocent but humorous.

Here is one of those situations. I was afraid of her bowel movement especially when we are traveling. She will try to delay it and later cause constipation. However I can smell her gas coming out very often.

Mummy: Emily, you want to poo poo? Your gas is smelly.
Emily: No mummy. My poo poo is sleeping.
Mummy: When is your poo poo going to wake up?
Emily: Poo poo is sleeping, cannot disturb them.

Later, she felt tummy ache. I fetched the potty and let her sit. After a while…

      Emily:
      Mummy!
      Mummy: Yes honey.
Emily: Poo Poo wakes up already. *meaning the poo poo has arrived onto the potty*

She gave a cheeky smile. :giggles:

    • Little Gift

      September 8, 2007

I got a little gift for Emily and she is really fascinated with it. I got her a star pendant, first time bidding in Ebay. I must say that there are lots of beautiful jewelries in Ebay. The little pendant came with a nice box. She have been asking mummy to put it on for her. To avoid any accidents, I didn’t allow her to wear to sleep. She keeps it in the gift box after she takes it off her neck. Girls being girls, they will want more of this to keep them beautiful when she grows up. By the way, she has cute hair pins in her collection. Next I may want to get her a jewelry box.

Do you think I should start piercing her ears? I know a gal who is younger than Emily, pierced her ears. Maybe I wait till she is older. I pierced mine when I was 20, mainly because I was afraid of pain.

    • Out Going

      September 7, 2007

Emily like me, likes to go out and doesn’t want to stay home. A few days ago, daddy wants to go out for walking exercise and she wants to tag along. It was getting dark and daddy didn’t want to bring her along. She stuck to daddy practically hold her daddy’s leg. Daddy told her that he is not going out anymore but went upstairs.

Later, while she was watching leap frog, daddy sneaked out quietly. She didn’t even notice daddy went out and came back. However in between, she kept asking me where daddy is and what is he doing. I told him daddy is upstairs reading. When we finished watching leap frog, she asked me again. I told her to go upstairs to look for daddy. She came down crying, saying daddy not there. I went up to look with her and true enough no daddy. She reinforced saying “See daddy not around, why daddy didn’t take me out?”

I told her that daddy may be in the study room. She opened the study room door, saw her daddy, she was so excited.

Every time we told her we are going out, she is so happy. I guess we need to take her out more often. I can understand her because she stays at the babysitter whole day and nothing really excites her there. Yes, we will start her with school again next year.

Funny Conversations between Tim & Emily:

Timothy: Mummy, you didn’t bring the ultraman VCD to aunt’s house to watch.
Emily: :giggles: Ultraman VCD cannot wash. Cannot put inside the water because it can spoil.
      Timothy: *speechless*

    • Children remember promises. I guess I have to be cautious when I make small little promises with them. No one likes an empty promise, even for an adult. Yesterday when I tugged Emily to bed, Emily wanted me to sleep with her. I told her when I finished my work, I will sleep with her.

In the middle of the night Emily creped into my room and being a light sleeper, I was half awake. She whispered to me “Mummy, you said you will sleep with me after you finished work”. Wow she reminds me of my promise in the middle of the night. I had to follow her to her room and sleep, to keep my promise to her. She was happy and fall back into sleep.

    • Wake Up Call

      August 26, 2007

When my children wake up from sleep or nap, it is very fortunate that they are not grumpy or moody. First thing Tim wakes up, he will go downstairs to look for the daddy as he knows daddy wakes up early. As for Emily, she can snores in deep sleep and next moment her eyes will be wide open looking for me.

Today we wanted to go out for dinner and Emily hasn’t waked up from her nap. She was snoring. Daddy whispered some secret words into her ears. She tried to open her eyes, after a few tries, she succeeded and woke up straight. Guess what those words are?

By the way, our record time from waking our children up from nap to getting out of the house is 15 minutes. Cool isn’t it? 😎

Secret Words: Want to eat your blue ice-cream? Some of you had it correct. Bravo! :good:

    • Behaving

      August 22, 2007

This morning I had an early meeting at 8am. Emily was still sleeping and I let her sleep in. I thought after the meeting I will take her to the babysitter. Halfway through the meeting, I heard footsteps coming down the stairs. Oh no, I was afraid she will make noise or cry while I am on the conference call.

She peeped into my room. All I did was put my finger up my lips, asking her to be quiet. She tip toe into my room and play quietly while I was having my meeting. Amazing, I just couldn’t believe it. She must have woken up on the right side of the bed. She was playing by herself until the meeting was over.

Sometimes she has a stubborn character whereby you tell her not to do something, she will refuse to comply. I will scold her. The next time, she will learn to comply because she dislikes me scolding her. She did ask me not to scold her. I guess you just need to be stern once for them to experience it that you mean business.

    • Emily In A Music Band

      August 14, 2007

Emily loves playing the tambourine, either that or she loves making noise. Every time she is in Sunday School, she will go grab the tambourine to play during singing session. Last Sunday the teacher called her out to join the musician to play. She was overjoyed and walk out without the fear of being looked at. I guess she was not shy to be in the front stage. Timothy stood there for less than a minute, he wanted to return to his seat.

Now I have to think of starting Emily on some music lessons. I am sure she will be interested. I hope she has my father’s gift, able to pick up music and play by ear. I know I am not talented in music. Once I did drive my organ teacher crazy, I really cannot get the rhythm and coordination at all. As for my hubby’s side, no sign of any music talent seen.

I will let both my children have a go at music lessons, will see whether they can succeed in at least playing a nice piece of Beethoven for me.

    • First Piece Of Art

      August 4, 2007

Emily draws a piece of art that really looks like something. She is starting to learn how to draw, putting her imagination into drawings. I hope she does that often like Timothy. It is a great way to exercise her right brain, better than watching TV.

I have to say, I do not spend much time to do enough craft with them. I need to do more of it. There are so many craft ideas that many mommy bloggers blog about. I must try those with them.

    • Change Battery

      July 30, 2007

Emily is getting to a stage of being super manja. She demands what she wants else she will cry aloud. Usually I just let her unless it is in a public area or late at night. She threw one at me yesterday night and got some serious caning from dad. I really hope she improved.

Once she wants me to carry her downstairs. Here is how the conversation goes:

      Emily: Please carry me downstairs.
Mummy: *try not to pamper her* Mummy cannot carry you, leg pain.
Emily: Carry me la, I want to fly like Peter Pan.
Mummy: Mummy no energy, see. *giving the lethargic look*
Emily: Wait. *pretend to go to my back* Dit Dit Dit Dit *pretend to open a invisible door at the back of me, take something and put it in and close back the invisible door*
Emily: Mummy, I change your battery already. Now you can carry me.
      Mummy: Sigh.

She makes me laugh but I just hope she will overcome her demanding character.
